Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta® October 5 - 13 2024 This is one of NM most well known events. There are events for people of all ages, and it truly is an indescribable experience. We recommend trying to attend a Mass Ascension or Balloon Glow event. As it will be Fall in NM, we recommend you dress in layers as the weather during this time of year can have drastic swings from very cold in the mornings and evenings to very hot by the mid afternoon. This event does often require a lot of walking, and has various shuttle/free park and ride options throughout the city of Albuquerque.
One of our favorite spots to stop on the way up or down from Taos back to Albuquerque
One of Krystal's favorite places to explore when in Taos. Taos has so many art galleries and museums it's hard to choose just one.
This is another favorite of Krystal's from childhood. There is so much to learn here about the history and experience of Taos.
La Chiripada Winery, HIghway 75 Rd 1119 #8, Dixon, NM 87527
This is a hub for a lot of experiences and events. In addition to learning about the rich cultural history of the indigenous people of NM they host a number of culturally relevant classes, dances, and events to keep the culture of the NM Pueblos alive.
This museum focuses most of its energy on art and local artists; however, they often have a touring exhibit that features the works of famous artists around the world.
This is a super fun, family friendly experience. This tram features an 11,000 square mile panoramic view of NM, reaching the 10,378-foot crest of the Sandia Mountains. At the top there is hiking and a restaurant. (We do not recommend the restaurant at the bottom, instead a close restaurant to this attraction is the County Line which typically has a bigger selection and a better safety and cleanliness rating).
