Our story began with a brief encounter six years ago. Krystal had come to Brian’s house to rehearse a song with his roommate for church. Brian remembers thinking, “She’s really cute” He made a quiet promise to himself: If I ever see her again, I’m asking her out. But she never came back, and life moved on. Fast forward to a Super Bowl party, years later. Amidst pizza, laughter, and work friends cheering on their teams, we ran into each other again, this time at a staff party on site. They both recognized each other right away. Still, something about the moment felt different. Krystal secretly thought he was cute, but it was too soon to let her guard down. Brian, picking up on her cautious “stranger danger” vibes, kept things light and fun, just enough to make her laugh without scaring her off. Later that week, thanks to a mutual friend, he got her number. One date turned into many, and soon, we were basically inseparable, finding any excuse to be together, even if it was just for 5 minutes. Neither of us could have written this story ourselves, only God could have woven our paths together so perfectly, with timing that was better than anything we could have planned. What started as a quiet promise and an unexpected reconnection has become the love story we didn’t know we were waiting for. And now, we can’t wait to write the rest of it together.
After two years of laughter, learning, and love, Brian asked Krystal the most important question of his life and she said yes! With the help of some amazing friends, we planned our first-ever couples’ road trip to downtown Greenville, South Carolina, a city neither of us had visited before but now holds a forever place in our hearts. Huge thanks to Cody & Hannah, who helped orchestrate the weekend getaway, and to Perry & Brooke, our talented local photographer friends, who captured the magic of the moment so beautifully. Brian chose Greenville for a special reason, it felt like a reflection of us. The city’s charm and energy reminded him of Krystal’s love for all things vibrant and alive, while the nearby waterfalls, trails, and trees echoed his own deep love for nature. It was the perfect blend of both our worlds. From staying in a little Tiny Home to watching the sun set from a rooftop restaurant, the weekend was full of sweet, unforgettable memories. And, true to life, there were a few surprises along the way, like the flower bouquet that never quite bloomed in time, and some introverted down-time post-proposal we both needed because emotions were running high (in the best way). The proposal wasn’t flawless, but it was perfectly imperfect: just like life, and just like love. As for whether Krystal saw it coming? Well… the jury’s still out. But we’re one step closer to forever, and we couldn’t be more excited for what’s ahead.
