If you know us at all, you know that Skyline is our first stop whenever we come to town. It's our favorite restaurant, and a place that you MUST go to in Cincinnati! There are locations all over, but the address above is our favorite. Our order recommendation: a three way and cheese coneys.
A Cincinnati classic! Graeter's has delicious ice cream and is by far our favorite ice cream we've had anywhere in the country. Monica gets the Buckeye Blitz, and Austin gets the Smores ice cream in a chocolate dipped cone. There are many different locations, but this is the one we go to the most since it is right by where Monica grew up.
Our favorite coffee shop! We especially recommend the Iced Pomegranate Green Tea (with honey and lemon), the Bumblebee with a Buzz (hot or iced), or their Aztec Mocha. They have amazing pastries and food too - try the Nutella croissant! There's usually a line, but don't worry it's worth it.
Smale is a park that goes all along the riverfront downtown. There are great walking paths, and you can rent bikes or scooters to explore if you'd prefer that to walking. We would also recommend going across the Purple People Bridge (a pedestrian only bridge) to Newport, KY where you will be able to see an amazing view of Downtown Cincinnati. This is where we got engaged!
OTR is one of our favorite places to walk around and get drinks, lunch, dinner, and have some fun! There are tons of shops to check out too. Some of our favorite places to eat are Taste of Belgium (brunch), Kreuger's Tavern (burgers), and The Eagle (chicken and sides).
The Banks is another fun area of downtown with lots of nightlife! It sits right between the Bengals' and Reds' stadiums and is a DORA district (a Designated Outdoor Refreshment Area), which means you can have drinks outside while you walk between locations. We had dinner at the banks before we got engaged, and it's walking distance down to the river which has a great view.
We love a good brewery! This is one of our favorites. They have beer (of course), cider, and mixed drinks options. Lots of cool outdoor seating, and great food too. It's also the sister location to our wedding venue! Our welcome happy hour will be held here :)
The Cincy Zoo is the #2 zoo in the country (thanks Omaha). Be sure to pay your respects to Harambe and say hello to Fiona for us.
Findlay Market is in downtown Cincinnati and has tons of booths with food and other items for sale. It's fun to just walk around in and a great place to get lunch. You can walk from Findlay Market to near-by Over-the-Rhine or Washington Square Park.
If you're looking for a place to get some sun, picnic, or just walk around, Ault Park is great! It's a beautiful park with great flowers, and there are some paved places to walk as well as small hiking trails.
Monica and Austin are both UC alumni. It's a beautiful campus to walk around, and the football stadium/field is open for anyone to spend time on as long as there isn't another event booked. There are also some good options for food near campus including a Skyline Chili, Drunken Taco, and Drunken Bento (sushi).
Austin used to work as a segway tour guide at The Garage! While your tour guide might not be as amazing as he was, a segway is one of the most fun ways to see the city. Even if you don't have a chance to do the tour while you're in town, feel free to ask Austin about his favorite tour guide facts when you see him at the wedding.
