Darshana and Krunal met through a famous Indian dating app called Dil Mil back in May of 2021. To be honest, they actually don't recall when they had swiped on one another but one day Darshana had decided to message Krunal because she saw his charming looks and that he lived only 25 miles away. They exchanged messages in the beginning discussing formalities and common interests. But more so, they began discussing the future and everything they were looking for once the Covid-era time had passed. He was working his corporate day job while she was preparing to work her second shift nursing job. At first she would respond quickly, which caught Krunal off-guard, but overtime they enjoyed messaging back and forth and it kept them both sane. The next month the two strangers decided to go grab their favorite thing, bubble tea in which a hangout that was suppose to last just an hour, turned into 5+ hours talking about life, their families, and favorite hobbies in her hometown. They knew that they shared something special and they got to just be themselves around one another. Once that first bubble tea hangout was over, the rest is now history.

About a month prior to the big day, Darshana received an email with a fake invitation to Krunal’s coworker’s reception. Krunal had previously hinted that his coworker was having a celebration, so when his coworker messaged her she was excited as she responded “I’m off work that day, we will be there”. Little did she know that this was Krunal’s foolproof plan and the most memorable day for her. The week of the proposal finally arrived and despite the numerous times that the surprise could have been revealed, Darsh was clueless. Krunal’s cousins and sister even got her to go get her nails done the night before with the bribe of getting bubble tea afterwards. The day of the proposal finally arrived, Krunal had his own set of nerves going into the day, meanwhile Darshana was just antsy to party. She drove over to Krunal, they got ready, and left for the infamous Navy Pier. Once there, Krunal convinced Darshana that his other coworkers were running late and to take a walk along the path by the lake. Just like any day they continued their usual banter, people watching, and taking in the beautiful skyline. As they were walking up the path, Darshana noticed another engaged couple taking pictures by a beautiful set-up that looked like a proposal. She even said, “Aww look at that newly engaged couple.” As they got closer a picture frame caught her eye and she realized it was her, this was ACTUALLY happening. While walking up to the path, death gripping (and almost breaking) Krunal’s wrist, they walked to the beautiful Marry Me sign and Krunal got down on one knee and FINALLY asked the question. With tears and smiles of course Darshana said yes! But wait there’s more! Krunal told Darshana that they were going to go eat dinner, her favorite, pizza with their parents and siblings. As they walked into Moretti’s, Krunal led Darshana into a private room where all of their friends and family had gathered to celebrate them! It was perfect.
