Alan grew up in Indiana, mastered the piano, and moved to Nashville like any good musician who wanted to be dramatic about it. Eventually, life said, “Surprise!” and he ended up in Texas as a Worship Associate at Rollingbrook Fellowship… and, because he clearly needed more to do, he also became the Facilities Administrator, aka the guy who fixes everything. Kim grew up in Texas with a Texas-sized dream: to become an actress! So, she moved to NYC and lived her best “jazz hands” life for years. But then she decided she missed her people (and probably good Tex-Mex), so she moved back to Texas, became a teacher, and joined Rollingbrook Fellowship as a worship leader. That’s where she met Alan. They became friends… and stayed friends… for three years, while everyone around them kept side-eyeing like, “Y'all sure this is just friendship?” And they were like, “Yes. Definitely. Absolutely.” (Very convincing.) But in those years, God was doing something deeper than either of them could see. He was weaving trust, kindness, and friendship into a foundation strong enough to last, quietly shaping their hearts and aligning their steps. It wasn’t delayed… it was perfectly timed. Eventually they finally started dating, and everyone who knew them said, “ABOUT TIME.” And that’s how two people who thought they were only “helping with worship” ended up starting the best duet of their lives.
