Amanda and I met at Historic Luh-Luh-Luh-Lambeau Field on a warm September day in 2016. I was in my last semester of law school at UW and bought student tickets for myself, a few friends and a few cousins for the Wisconsin/LSU football game. A few days before the game, some of them found out they were unable to go, leaving me sitting on more tickets than a law student/waiter could afford. Luckily, another friend attending the game that day knew someone who would want to go, and called her up. Amanda answered, said "yes", and showed up at the tailgate with Miller Lite and venison sausage, which I noticed immediately. When the Badgers won in dramatic fashion and Amanda was overwhelmed with emotion, I jumped on this chance to ask Amanda for her phone number. ~Joe
I told Joe that when he proposed I wanted to be wearing something nice - not sweatpants or workout clothes. So proposing during COVID-19 quarantine was going to be quite difficult as I lived in leggings and sweatshirts. One Saturday, Joe asked to make me a nice dinner - duck and potatoes. Right before everything was ready, he asked me to put on something nice. So, I knew then. Collecting myself, I changed and sat down to dinner. And Joe got down on one knee and proposed! ~Amanda
