Please RSVP on our website by 3/30/2025. You are also welcome to RSVP before this date!
Although we would love to offer a plus one to all of our guests, we have an intimate guest list to stay on budget and meet our vendor restrictions. We appreciate your understanding and can’t wait to celebrate with you!
While we love & adore your little ones, our wedding will be an adult-only affair. We kindly request that no children attend. We appreciate your understanding and hope you can still enjoy the day with us!
Your presence at our wedding is the best present of all and we are lucky to have all that we need! However, if you would like to get us a gift, we would appreciate any size of contributions toward our honeymoon fund. You can find the link to our Honeyfund on the Registry section of our website.
Our ceremony will begin at 6:00pm, so we would recommend arriving no later than 5:30pm. Because our wedding takes place on a Friday and our venue is a 45 minute drive from downtown Kansas City, we would suggest planning on leaving early to avoid end-of-week traffic that may cause delays.
Our wedding will take place during the beautiful spring season! Please feel free to wear sundresses, floral prints, suits in lighter hues, and fun spring colors.
There is plenty of parking at Powell Gardens where the ceremony & reception will be held. After parking, guests will walk down the pathway toward the Marjorie Powell Allen Chapel. When entering the Powell Gardens address into Maps or Uber/Lyft, we find it is easiest to get to the ceremony location by entering the Marjorie Powell Allen Chapel location into navigation systems. After the wedding ceremony & reception, we have arranged for a shuttle to transport guests (who choose not to drive) from the venue back to the hotel in the city. However, there is limited seating per shuttle ride, so please let us know by April 15th if you think you would like a ride back to Crossroads Hotel.
Both our ceremony and the reception areas will be indoors. Please keep in mind though that our reception area will be covered but exposed to the beautiful gardens to give it that 'outdoor' feeling, so we'd recommend bringing a light jacket or shawl to stay warm as the evening goes on. During dinner & the reception, feel free to take a stroll around the gardens or take in the sights from the top of the silo tower too! Although we can’t predict the exact weather, temperatures in Kansas City in May are typically around 75 degrees during the day and 65 degrees at night.
Our reception at Powell Gardens will end at 11:00 pm, however we do plan to continue the celebration afterwards near our hotel in the Crossroads Art District!
Because our venue is a preserved botanical garden, it is a smoke free property. Unfortunately, our venue will charge us a significant fee if smoking on the property takes place. We kindly ask that you please don't smoke at our event.
