Melissa often jokes that Ryan is the best thing she ever found on the Internet. Fate and some well thought out dating profiles is what started their story. On May 5th, 2018, after 2+ months of talking via text/phone, busy schedules, and a cancelled first date due to illness, was the first date and the start of Melissa and Ryan. A 7 hour long date at the Northman that led to love; both of cider and each other. Big milestones and many memories happened over the next 5 years. Discovering that Melissa does not play video games like she told Ryan on their first date, or that Ryan does actually like shorts and hot weather (as long as a cold drink is involved). First trips together to Saugatuck, Disney World, and Cancun. Experiencing plays, orchestras, concerts (no synth wave for Melissa). Learning that they like semi-sweet and not dry from going to different cider houses and cider festivals. From moving in together to buying a house. Navigating jobs, family, and #adulting. All leading to May 5th, 2023. While on a cruise through the Fjords of Norway, Ryan got down on one knee in their small cruise cabin, in front of their friends sitting on their bed because Melissa refused to leave the cabin to do the celebratory anniversary toast she planned before dinner, and popped the question. After saying, "Are you for real?" many times, in only a voice a dog could hear and exclaiming, "that she should have listened to Liz". Melissa and Ryan were engaged. We are so grateful for the love and support that we as a couple have received from our family and friends. We are excited to celebrate with you, thank you for being a part of our story!
