Soaring into forever

We met in the last place either of us expected to find love: work. More specifically, an airport in Bozeman, Montana—where we were broke customer service agents making minimum wage in a city that was definitely not minimum-wage friendly. What started as simple survival quickly turned into friendship. We became work best friends, bonding over long shifts, shared laughs, and loitering at ticket counters, the bag office, and gate areas. Somewhere between flight delays and mutual complaining, feelings happened (rude). Eventually, Scott worked up the courage to invite Jada to hang out outside of work—to a Halloween party. This was a big deal, since it meant breaking Scott’s one very serious life rule: never date coworkers (or “co-hearts”). Spoiler alert: it was absolutely worth it. After about a year of dating, we decided to do something slightly less chaotic (but still bold) and move to Scott’s hometown of Chicago to continue growing our careers and our life together. Somehow, we made it work—and even upgraded from airport break rooms to an apartment of our own. Today, we live in Logan Square with our two cats, Niko and Murph, who fully run the household and keep us humble. From Bozeman to Chicago, minimum wage to meaningful careers, and coworkers to forever, our story has been anything but boring. Now, we’re so excited to celebrate this next chapter with the people who’ve cheered us on, laughed with us, and supported us along the way.
