Things To Do

The Wedding Website of Krizia Labayen and Evan Forster
While You’re in Town: The San Diego Hit List Welcome to San Diego, a city where the weather is boringly perfect, the tacos are a food group, and we put french fries inside burritos because we are innovators. We know you’re here for the wedding (and we love you for it!), but we also want you to fall in love with the city. Here are some favorite spots to eat, drink, and pretend to be active.

* Eats & Drinks (The “Diet Starts Monday” Section) *

The Essential Taco Experience

- SOUTH BEACH BAR & GRILLE (located in Ocean Beach): Featured on food TV shows such as, “Diners, Drive-Ins & Dives” as well as “Food Paradise”, this spot is a MUST visit for their famous Mahi fish taco. Pro Tip: Go a little before sunset. Head to the second floor & order a Mai Tai or your drink of choice. Grab a seat on their deck & enjoy the view. Fun Fact: Evan took Krizia here for their 1st SD date night! - LUCHA LIBRE TACO SHOP (located in Mission Hills): Craving a taco/burrito? This is the spot. Featured on the “Travel Channel”, “Food Network”, “Cooking Channel”, “The New York Times”, and “CNN”, this taco shop will satisfy all your taco/burrito cravings. Pro Tip: This place gets quite crowded. We would suggest arriving for an early lunch or dinner. *Pro Tip: The "California Burrito": This isn't a specific restaurant; it's a lifestyle. Go to almost any taco spot & order a California Burrito. It has carne asada, cheese, salsa & french fries. Yes, fries. Trust the process.

Pizza? In San Diego? How dare you!

- BRONX PIZZA (located in Hillcrest): We know, we know. You can't just eat tacos for three straight days, (unless you're us, in which case, we get it). But if you need a break from the al pastor, you're in luck. San Diego has phenomenal pizza! They promise not to put any fries in it too, unless you ask of course. Bronx Pizza has been operating since 1997. It has achieved iconic status in San Diego for its New York style thin crust pizza. - BASIC BAR/PIZZA (downtown): This is our favorite spot to get pizza in San Diego. Here’s the catch, they’re currently closed due to landlord issues. However, they are supposedly opening in February/March 2026 in a new location downtown. If this is true, you’ll find us there almost every day. Here’s their website: https://www.barbasic.com/

The Fancy Dinner

- GEORGE'S AT THE COVE (Ocean Terrace): There are obviously tons of places to grab a fancy dinner in SD, but if you had to pick one, this is the place. The view of the La Jolla coastline is ridiculous. The food is great, but let’s be honest, you’re paying for the sunset. Pro Tip: Make a reservation on the rooftop way in advance 🙂.

* Sights (For the ‘Gram) *

- BALBOA PARK: This massive park is home to 17 museums, stunning Spanish architecture, and the Botanical Building (the cool lath house you see in every picture of San Diego). It’s perfect for wandering around with a coffee. Fun Fact: This is where Krizia and Evan will be taking their after ceremony pictures! - HOTEL DEL CORONADO: Cross the big blue bridge to "The Del." It’s the famous white Victorian hotel with the red roof. Grab a drink at the beach bar and enjoy the best sand in California. - SUNSET CLIFFS NATURAL PARK: One of San Diego's most romantic and beloved coastal areas, offering stunning panoramic views of the Pacific Ocean and, as the name promises, world-class sunsets. It’s located along the western edge of the Point Loma Peninsula. Pro Tip: Bring a picnic before sunset, relax, and watch the surfers get barrelled!

* Experiences *

- THE SAN DIEGO ZOO: Yes, it’s a tourist trap. Yes, it is absolutely worth it. It is widely considered the best zoo in the world. It is also built on giant hills, so treat it as a leg workout. Pro Tip: The Skyfari aerial tram. It saves your legs and gives you great views. - THE USS MIDWAY MUSEUM: A giant aircraft carrier turned into a museum. You can walk through the mess hall, sit in captain's chairs & look at fighter jets. Even if you aren't a history buff, it’s undeniably cool to stand on a flight deck in the middle of the bay. Note: If you feel the need to quote Top Gun, just know you are the 1,000th person to do it that day. We support you anyway. - HIKING TORREY PINES: If you want to "earn" your tacos, hike the Torrey Pines State Reserve. It’s a relatively easy hike that ends with dramatic cliffs overlooking the ocean. It’s gorgeous. Pro Tip: Parking is a competitive sport here. Arrive early or Uber.

* OH WAIT, THERE'S MORE! *

- LITTLE ITALY (Downtown San Diego): If you are heading downtown, we suggest spending almost all of your time in Little Italy. It is a dynamic, chic & highly walkable neighborhood. It is widely considered the largest Little Italy in the U.S., spanning 48 blocks. The district beautifully blends its rich history as a former Italian fishing neighborhood with a modern, vibrant culinary & cultural scene. Pro Tip: Grab an espresso, or some gelato & just walk around. - LA JOLLA COVE SNORKELING: For the adventure type! Snorkeling at La Jolla Cove is considered one of the best experiences in SoCal, mainly because the cove is part of the protected San Diego-La Jolla Underwater Park Ecological Reserve. This means fishing & the removal of marine objects (including shells and rocks) are prohibited, resulting in a rich underwater world. You’ll get to swim with California Sea Lions, Harbor Seals, Garibaldi & many others! Pro Tip: The water will be cold in April, so it'll be best to rent a wetsuit.
