The Wedding Website of Rob Horrell and Kris Freese

Erin Miller

Maid of Honor

She’s not just Kris' stepsister, Er is also one of her best friends. While they didn’t grow up in the same house and are 8 years apart, Kris was fortunate enough to be able to watch Erin grow up and corrupt her just a little during her visits to her Dad’s, and then trips home from college. When Kris moved to Wilmington for the second and final time in 2011, Er decided to leap and join her! Kris and Er got to be friends, sisters AND roommates, strengthening their bond and making memories that would last a lifetime!

David (Pal) Dick

Best Man

Rob met Pal in 2011 at RA Jeffrey’s where they both worked, but Rob feels like they have been friends forever. They bonded immediately over sports, and are both die-hard Tar Heel fans. Shortly after meeting, they lived together in Carolina Beach for two years. He even taught Rob how to cook the few dishes he knows. Pal is the only one who can mellow Rob out; He just gets him. They can have a good time together whether it’s some extravagant event like a Tar Heel game or just drinking a beer at home. Pal is the type of guy that’s always willing to help, no matter the situation and Rob truly doesn’t know what he would do without him. “And the epithet read one word... Pal.”

Cara Memmo

Maid of Honor

Of all the relationships that have started in a bar, this one is the best! The year was 2013 and Cara and her friend were visiting Downtown Wilmington to partake in St. Patty's Day festivities and scope our their future residence. As luck would have it, their friend groups collided- decked out in their green & drinking like the Irish- and they became instant friends! Their friendship grew over years of themed parties, Best Friend dates and other random adventures. Cara even introduced Kris to Bumble, where she met Rob, so we definitely wouldn’t be here without her! Today, Cara is more like family to both her & Rob, and Kris still thanks her lucky stars that six years ago she walked into that bar and into her heart forever.

Kellen (Whitey) Miller

Best Man

Through mutual friends, Rob met Whitey in 2006 and their friendship quite literally “grew up in a bar.” Or many. Rob has traveled to and partied with Whitey in many cities, even flying to St. Louis to celebrate his 30th. When asked why, Rob says “because Whitey is the type of friend you travel the country for... he’s the type of friend that would travel the country for you.” When Rob moved back from New Mexico he moved in with Whitey, adding roommate to Whitey’s list of roles, after: friend, financial advisor, handler and life coach. (There may or may not be a contract from when Kris took over custody.) Whitey and Rob share a dislike for most people and all vegetables. An obvious choice for Best Man, he is not just a friend, but a member of Rob’s family, and also has the most dirt on him.

Karlee Kern

Bridesmaid

Kris has referred to Karlee as her Sister-Cousin for longer than she can remember. They are just too close to be simply cousins. From the days Kris pushed Karlee around in her doll stroller to the days they got kicked out of a Food Lion together for playing "catch" over the top of the aisles (as adults)... they have been there for each other through the great times, the terrible times and the downright hilarious adventures. And now, as we approach the most important day of Kris' life, she couldn't even begin to imagine it without Karlee by her side.

Chris Williams

Groomsman

Chris was the first friend Rob ever had to really get his sarcastic sense of humor. He taught Rob how to play poker, and they went on to run poker games together in Wilmington. Chris was Rob’s first ever roommate besides his sister and was also the motivation behind Rob’s one year residence in New Mexico. There, Chris tried to teach Rob to play golf with numerous trips to the Marty Sanchez golf course in Santa Fe and was the only man to ever see Rob “snowboard.” Rob and Chris have partied a lot together in many different cities, but he’s also helped Rob out more than anyone knows and has been one of his most loyal friends.

Traci Bruno

Bridesmaid

Traci and Kris may not be sisters by blood or by marriage, but they are definitely sisters by heart. Traci was four or five when she was introduced to Kris & Ky, and her years as an only child were no more; There was no doubt in any of their minds that no matter what happened in their parents' lives, they would be siblings forever. It just so happens, as Kris and Traci grew, they had more and more in common. Both bartenders, they love their wine, and a good cold beer. Both are fitness enthusiasts and have pursued that end in both work and play. And while they don't see each other nearly as much as they would like, both values having the other in their lives more than words can say.

Vince Murphy

Groomsman

Rob met Vince in Wilmington through fellow Groomsman, Chris, and openly admits to not liking him at first. But Rob watched Vince grow up from an innocent college kid to the man he is now, and over the years Vince’s “glass is always half full” approach to life eventually grew on him. They became great friends and ran a poker game in Wilmington together. Vince is a big shot in Toronto now, and Rob couldn’t be prouder of him. Rob always thought Vince would make it down the aisle before he did, but either way, he knew this day wouldn’t be possible without him. Anyone who knows Rob knows he is loyal (to a fault) with his friends but even more so when it comes to Vince; He’s the little brother Rob never had.

Cindy (soon to be) Hayes

Bridesmaid

Cindy and Rob are the closest of brother-sister duos. Few siblings can say they are blessed with the type of unwavering loyalty, support, friendship and love that these two share. Before there even was a Kris, Rob knew his sister would be standing alongside him on the day that he got married. But after Rob proposed, there was no need to ask if Kris would mind adding his sister to the wedding party. Cindy was already a friend and sister in Kris' eyes and heart, and couldn't have been more excited to have Cindy by her side when she made it official! Since then, they have only grown closer and Kris is even fortunate enough to return the favor of Bridesmaid to her sister-to-be next May!

Jason (Cled) Hayes

Groomsman

You don’t need to know Jason long to love him. He is the kind of guy that calls just to see how you are. Jason is always there for Rob, no matter what, quick with a laugh and is quickly becoming Rob’s go-to concert buddy. While Rob’s sister technically “found him first,” there was an immediate “bromance” where Cled and Bubba were concerned. Jason will officially be his brother when he and Cindy marry next May, but Rob already considers him family. He trusts Jason implicitly with his sister and niece, and although Jason doesn’t need Rob’s approval to marry his sister, he unequivocally has it. (Despite being a Duke & Eagles fan.)

Savannah Spencer

Junior Bridesmaid

An adults-only wedding with a Junior Bridesmaid? This not-so-little-anymore girl is quickly blossoming into a sweet young lady, much to the chagrin of her protective “Uncle Bubba.” Savannah has been such an integral part of Rob’s life and she captured “Aunt Kris’” heart from day one! Smart as a whip, energetic and funny, she will no doubt bring the youthful, exuberant joy that every wedding party needs.

(Jon) Ketchie

Groomsman

While Rob has only known Ketchie for three years, he has been one of Kris’ best friends for nearly seven. If you know Rob, you know he isn’t the easiest person to win over, but in his words, “If you don’t like Ketchie, you don’t like humans.” In fact, due to Ketchie’s laidback, easy-going nature and love for the Tar Heels, Rob knew he liked Ketchie before he knew his first name was actually Jon. (At least 3 weeks before.) Currently residing in Charlotte, they make sure to get some Ketchie time in whenever they travel. He is the most genuine guy they know, and they couldn’t imagine this wedding without him in it.

Chelsea Williams

Bridesmaid

There are some people in this world that you meet and you just know they are a Forever Friend. Chelsea was one of those people for Kris and has been such a steady, positive influence in her life since the day they met. Kris worked with this beautiful soul in Annapolis MD, where she lived briefly, and was immediately captivated by her contagious smile and boundless energy. And while they only lived in the same state for one of their eleven years of friendship, the distance hasn’t kept these two from growing closer as every year passes.

Jessica Noe

Bridesmaid

Talk about your Partner-in-Crime. The phrase "That's a terrible idea... what time?" could have been coined by them. Jes and Kris met at UNCW in 2001 after Jes answered Kris' ad for a roommate. Kris went with another roommate, but having moved from NY knowing no one, kept in touch, hoping they could be friends. While Jess thought Kris was a bit of a creeper for that, she still accepted her invite to the party at the Reserves that set a life-long friendship in motion. When they finally lived together later on, they did so dorm-life style/sharing a bedroom. These free spirited friends somehow ended up falling in sync recently, getting engaged, buying homes and getting married, all within a year of each other. What's next for these two? Perhaps producing their own set of partners-in-crime...?

Jay & JoAnn Ashmore

Officiant Team

Remember that ad Kris put out in 2011? Well Jay answered. After he, Kris & their Moms all met for the first time for dinner at Elijah's, it was a roommate match made in heaven. Jay and Kris lived together through 2 apartments, 1 house and 5 roommates before they parted ways. A couple years later Kris found herself living with JoAnn. As fate would have it, Jay & Jo later became roommates to each other, and then Husband & Wife. Kris is so thankful to have maintained her friendship with this beautiful couple all these years and was overjoyed to introduce such amazing friends to Rob in Richmond 2 years ago. After his proposal last August, it was a no-brainer who they wanted to marry them and were so honored when they accepted their offer to write (Jo) & officiate (Jay) their marriage ceremony.
