I was on vacation in November of 2017 and I get a phone call from a coworker, Rena, to come to the gym and work out today. When I asked why, the response was to get in shape. After a little digging, Rena told me there was a cute guy working out and I needed to meet him. I told her to tell him to add me on Facebook and we can go from there. She then asked me if she could give him my number, I told her no... to find out later she gave it to him anyway. Dallas Murray added me on Facebook and of course I stalked him just like any other person would, and I never heard from him nor reached out to him after that. It was now December and I had called out of work due to the stomach bug and finally decided to go to the store closest to get some soup and crackers. While waiting in the check out line, a guy with a case of beer approaches me and says "Are you Kristyn Cumbee?". Again, I was sick and looked homeless and was nervous to answer. I replied "yes, I am". He said who he was and said it was nice to meet me. I checked out and went to my car to wait for my manager to bring me my Christmas gift from work and what do you know... I was parked right beside Dallas. I saw him in my mirror coming my way and as I leaned my chair back as far and I possibly could.... BOOM, there was Dallas at my window asking me to roll it down. I did and he said "Are you following me?", I laughed and told him why I was waiting in my car. He then said "When I get back in town, I would love to take you to dinner" and I said okay. From that date on we have been inseparable!

It was the start of our annual Cumbee Week Vacation in 2019 and this year Dallas got to join. We all went to Marathon, FL and I couldn't wait to see some place new. The whole way there, Dallas was quiet and being weird. I thought he was nervous to spend a week with my family. We were all excited to finally arrive and we thought the following day we should go into Key West and spend the day there. As I am getting ready that morning my sisters were constantly nagging me to dress up. They were not going to persuade me. Anyone who knows me, knows that I dress for comfortability and not cuteness. I ended up in a tank and shorts and threw my hair in a pony tail. Once we got to Key West, I kept nagging Dallas for not keeping up with the family walking so fast. It was a long day, with the heat and sweating and walking , by 3pm I was about ready for a nap. My dad then tells us he booked us on the catamaran sunset cruise. We ate and drank until the sun started to set. All I remember next was there was a cute dog cuddling on dad and I said someone should take their picture. (If you know my dad this is a RARE sighting!) I was volunTOLD that I needed to take it. So while I got my phone out, to take a picture and there was commotion behind me from the rest of my family and Dallas. Dad saw Dallas with his GoPro and told me and Dallas to go by the edge to take a picture. Which Dallas and I do this all the time when we travel anyways. We take a "Picture" and dad says look at the water and he will get one this way. Dallas grabs my hand and is shaking. He started the conversation with, "you know I want to spend my whole life with you" and right then my stomach dropped and I knew what was going on. He turned towards me and got on one knee and asked for my hand in marriage. It was the easiest yes and it was so special to me how my family was included. It was late but we called all the close family members that night, we were so excited. May 4th 2019 will forever be a special day for us.

As a world wide pandemic approached, we were super nervous that our biggest day ever would have to be moved. It completely broke our hearts to have to reschedule everything, but the health and safety of our family and friends matters the most to us. We ended up still having a small ceremony and getting MURRAYed on April 25th, 2020. We still haven't had our first dance, gone on a honeymoon, or celebrated with friends and family, but we absolutely look forward to October 10th, 2020. This date was special to us because the first week we got engaged we loved this date. We are happy that we had our special Wedding Date in April and are absolutely excited we get the best of both worlds and get to celebrate on our other favorite date. We have been happily married for 3 months and we cannot wait to see what the future holds for us!
