Matron of Honor
My mom is a saint. Every blade of grass has it’s angel that bends over it and whispers grow, grow. My mom has been that voice of encouragement for me through my whole life. She happens to be one of my closest and most selfless friends. She is genuine and kind, brings wisdom to every conversation, loves deeply and makes those around her feel valued. I would not be the person I am today without her guidance, and I am thankful to have been inspired by the love she and my dad share.
Best Man
While he and the groom met at what was supposed to be their own fist fight, they instead became roommates and life-long friends. Not long into the happy couple's relationship, Derek had the bride on the phone for almost an hour, no doubt putting her through some sort of test... I guess she passed. He is always up to get his friend's together for a good time, saying something like "we'll only be out for one drink. I promise."
Maid of Honor
She is at least a head taller than me but is actually my younger sister and built in best friend for life. Witty gal. Incredibly fast. Not a strong swimmer. Emily is both my mirror and my opposite. I know I’ll always have her support, but I can also count on her to keep me accountable. She is expected to make a well thought out and heartfelt speech on the big day, or she will be removed from the premises.
Groomsman
Clay is another high school friend. He has a lot of friends and is a very likable guy, but he always has time for his old pal Kris. He will undoubtedly make you laugh within the first two minutes of meeting him.
Bridesmaid
She is my youngest sister, player of made up games, completer of endless demands and protector who slept with me in my basement room for years when I was too afraid to do so alone. She has provided me with a doggy nephew and this year changed my life when she had Tatum Marie in March, making me a first-time auntie. She hates being photographed but will put on an Oscar-winning performance on the big day (or she, too, will be asked to leave).
Groomsman
When I moved to Anna High School and joined the football team, my locker was next to Bryan's, so he became my first friend there. He is the kind of guy that is not afraid to put me in my place and let me know when I am out of line. He is always holding me accountable to be the best person I can be.
Bridesmaid
Sara has a knack for bringing people together. She is never one to shy away from a heartfelt conversation, and she expresses her gratitude for her loved ones in a way that is unparalleled. For years, we have lived states apart, but our memories of high school and beyond are brimming with Sara's home cooked meals and adventures that had us laughing until we cried.
Groomsman
He introduced the happy couple, for which he will continually remind us that we are forever indebted;) Obviously he gets a seat at the table. He too has the Pahlke power of bringing people together. He seeks out adventure and encourages his friends to do the same. Thanks to Dan, we became comfortable with being uncomfortable, met each other and made life-long memories.
Bridesmaid
In more ways than one, Mikayla reminds me of my mom, including her grace and selflessness, so it is no wonder we have remained friends since high school. Kris and I would not be where we are today without her and her husband because they shared their home with us when we moved up from Texas. Wait until you see the ring bearer... That dapper young fella is her son.
Groomsman
We met during our time in the Air Force (Dan will also take credit for this; see above). Jack is someone I look up to and motivates me to give my all in everything that I do. He works hard but can play hard, too. You can't live in Germany and not learn how to drink a few beers along the way. His spitting image will be carrying (or maybe throwing) our rings down the aisle.
