To allow all wedding guests, including parents, a night of relaxation and uninhibited revelry, we respectfully ask that no children attend the ceremony or reception.

The second line is the "trailing" section of the traditional brass band parades in New Orleans. The second line follows behind the "main line" of the actual brass band participants in the parade. It's also a style of traditional dance, in which participants follow behind the brass band dancing jubilantly to the music twirling a parasol or handkerchief in the air. At a wedding it signifies the celebration of a new beginning of life for the bride and groom. The second line band leads the bridal party and guests from the ceremony to the reception venue. In our case, that's about 6 blocks so be sure to bring comfortable dancing shoes!
New Orleans receptions are typically not seated dinners, but consist of heavy passed items at the start of the reception, open action stations and buffets, with emphasis on lots of food options, lots of beverages, and a highly dynamic and social atmosphere that allows guests to move freely about the reception space. Seating is left open for guests to choose their own seats and tables. The bride and groom have their first dance near the beginning of their reception, opening the dance floor immediately for the guests' enjoyment, and to take full advantage of the lively music!
We have a strict guest list to stay on budget. Our wedding is strictly RSVP only. We will only be able to accommodate those listed on your invitation.
