Things To Do

Kitzbühel, Austria, is a stunning destination year-round, and October is no exception. The town is nestled in the Alps, so the fall season brings beautiful autumn colors, a quieter atmosphere before the ski season begins, and a range of activities for outdoor enthusiasts, culture seekers, and food lovers alike. Whether you're into hiking, eating, or just soaking up the stunning scenery, you'll find something memorable to do! October weather in Kitzbühel can be unpredictable, with some days still warm and others chilly. Be sure to bring layers, as well as good waterproof gear if you plan on hiking or biking. Snow at higher elevations is possible towards the end of the month, so if you're an early skier, you might even catch a glimpse of the first dusting of snow!

Mountain Hiking

Hiking & Nature Walks Kitzbüheler Horn & Hahnenkamm: October is perfect for hiking, as the weather is still mild but the summer crowds have thinned out. Hike up the Kitzbüheler Horn or the famous Hahnenkamm, both of which offer breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains. You can enjoy the changing colors of the leaves, making it an excellent time for nature walks. Gaisberg & Stuckkogel: Explore some of the less-crowded trails for a peaceful hiking experience. The Gaisberg offers panoramic views of the entire region and is a great spot for autumn photography.

Golf

Kitzbühel Alpine Golf Course If you’re a golf enthusiast, October is still a great time to play at the Kitzbühel Alpine Golf Course. With the fall scenery in the background, it makes for a beautiful round of golf. The course is often quieter during this time of year, so you can enjoy it in peace.

City Stroll & Shopping

Kitzbühel Town & Old Town Stroll Explore the medieval town: Wander through the charming streets of Kitzbühel's Old Town, which is famous for its cobbled streets, colorful houses, and traditional Alpine architecture. Stop by one of the cozy cafés for a hot chocolate or a slice of apple strudel, and enjoy the laid-back vibe of the town as it transitions into the quieter off-season. You can shop at top designer stores like Moncler, Brunello Cucinelli, and Louis Vuitton or visit the local retail store to pick up authentic Kitzbühel ski wear. Kitzbühel Museum: If you're into history and culture, the Kitzbühel Museum is a great stop to learn about the region's history, from its mining past to its current ski culture. Learn more about the Prast family and their ski history!

Cable Car Ride To The Top

Take a Scenic Cable Car Ride While the skiing season is just around the corner, many cable cars remain open for sightseeing purposes in October. Ride the Hahnenkammbahn or Kitzbüheler Hornbahn to the top for stunning views of the Alps, especially with the fall colors in full display. If you are able to join us on Friday you will have lunch at the top of the mountain with amazing views of the town as well as food!

Spa & Wellness

Spa and Wellness Spa Relaxation: After a day of exploring the outdoors, indulge in some relaxation at one of the area’s spas. Many hotels in Kitzbühel have wellness centers offering massages, saunas, and treatments that use local natural products. A visit to the Aqua Dome and or Stanglwirt offers an incredible thermal spa experience with outdoor pools and saunas.

Let's Grab A Drink

Join us at some point at one of our favorite pubs in town - Woody's. Woody owns a little gem close to the center of town and has various games and where the one and only Devil's Cola was invented. Bring your sharp skillset to the bar and play a game where you drive a nail into a tree trunk. If you are a night owl we might even hit up a few other of our favorite pubs in town. We promise a great time!
