If this is your first time in Portugal,  we've listed some of our favourite sights and restaurants in Porto and Lamego.

Explore the scenic banks of the Douro river with Porto on one side and Villa Nova de Gaia just right across. We recommend crossing the top of Dom Luis I Bridge on foot for the best views of the city

Ribeira

If you are keen to try a plate of "Francesinha", Porto's signature dish, then this is the most popular place to get it.

Brasão Aliados

Cross over to Gaia in the afternoon, explore the mercado or get on the six bridges boat tour, 
and when the sun is about to set, get on the cable car that takes you to the top of the hill for the best sunset views.

Vila Nova de Gaia

This place makes the BEST pastel de nata (according to the bride). Right across the street from this cafe is the farmer's market which is also worth a peek.

Manteigaria – Fábrica de Pastéis de Nata

Portugal is known for their bright sunny weather and beautiful sandy beaches. Praia de matosinhos is just one of the many spots you can visit for a dip and a tan.

Matosinhos Beach

This stunning historic baroque chapel can be reached via a staircase with 686 steps. That's more than three times the one in Covent Garden station. Definitely recommend wearing comfortable shoes.
