Question

When should I RSVP by?

Answer

If you are attending our wedding in Santa Barbara, please RSVP by July 20. If you are watching the ceremony online, we don't expect you to RSVP but we would love for you to send us a photo or video of you watching. For Italy: Due to the current pandemic, we have not decided on a final date for RSVPs. We want to make sure that it is safe for all of you to travel and join us in Italy before asking you to commit. We will continue to evaluate the situation and send updates as we get close to the wedding.

Why do you have a little wedding and a big wedding planned?

Answer

Trying to get married during a pandemic has proven to be very challenging. However, we do not want the current situation to hinder us from taking the next step in our lives. We have therefore decided to get married in Santa Barbara on August 27, 2020. Due to the circumstances, we have to keep this gathering very small. We are hoping to celebrate our first wedding anniversary and our marriage with all of you on September 23, 2021, in Italy (same location and details. as before). To make this occasion extra special we will be saying our vows for the first time with all of you there. We are also saving the cake cutting, 1st dance, dancing in general, bridal party and speeches to make our Big Wedding even more memorable. We consider ourselves lucky to get the opportunity to host two weddings and we can't wait to celebrate with all of you at some point over the next year.

Is there a rehearsal dinner in Santa Barbara?

Answer

No. However, we will be dining at the hotel that night. We will also spend some time with our coordinator, going over all the details. If you are interested in joining us for the dinner on the patio, just send us a text and we will add you to the reservation.

I have a food allergy, can I make a special request?

Answer

Yes. Please let us know when you RSVP if you have any allergies and we will do our best to accommodate.

Are kids welcome?

Answer

In Italy, our nephews might make an appearance but otherwise, we ask that you let the kids enjoy a relaxing night with a sitter. However, we joyously welcome your children to our post-wedding brunch the following morning!

Do you have any hotel recommendations?

Answer

We have done some research for you but there are many other options as well right around the corner from our venue. Please see the travel section of this website for our recommendations.

Is there a dress code?

Answer

Dress to impress. The recommended dress code is "chic". During our wedding day, we suggest that you wear neutral colors since this is a small wedding and we want the pictures to look as amazing as you on our big day. Suggested colors: green, grey, black, beige, gold, silver etc.

Can I bring a date?

Answer

When you RSVP, you will be able to see if you can bring a +1 or not. There is a limited amount of space at all of the events and we are therefore not able to accommodate any additional guests beyond what has been alotted when you RSVP.

Do you provide transportation to and from the hotels?

Answer

No. Please ask the hotel to book a taxi for you. The address to all the venues are listed in the schedule section of this website.

Are there any other events that I should know about around the wedding?

Can I request for specific songs to be played during the wedding?

Answer

Yes! When you RSVP, be ready to name all your favorite songs. We will accommodate as many requests as possible as long as they are sent in advance. If you think of any after you RSVP, please send us an email: fromchictosheikh@outlook.com

I love taking photos. Do you mind if I take some during the wedding?

Answer

Both in Italy as well as Santa Barbara, we will be having an unplugged ceremony and dinner at our wedding. While we fully encourage everyone to bring their phones and cameras to document the day (plus your awesome outfit and fabulous dance moves), we politely request that all devices be turned off during the ceremony and dinner. During the cocktail reception, if our photographer is not around, we encourage you to take some pictures with the people around you as the lighting will be beautiful (we are timing this part to be around sunset). During all the other celebratory events we highly encourage pictures to be taken by all the guests there. Can you please send me the professional photos from your events?

Answer

As soon as we receive the professional images from our photographer after the wedding, we will be uploading them to this page! Keep an eye out after the event for some beautiful shots from our amazing photographers.

I want to get you a gift. What would you prefer that I buy?

Answer

As many of you know, we have been living together for over 6 years and our home is already filled with all the things we could ever need and then some. While the presence of your company is the only gift we could ever ask for, an registry has been set up for those who have expressed an interest in offering a gift to mark the occasion.

Is the wedding and other events indoors or outdoors?

Answer

Both of our weddings are entirely outdoors. You can also expect to be walking on grass to get to the ceremonies. Please check the weather in advance and plan your outfit accordingly so you stay comfortable during the events. The only exception is the event the day before the big day in Italy. This will take place inside the villa.
