Our journey began in Early 2011. Fresh off of a New Year's resolution, Kristine, joined a capoeira class at UCA Hayward. This decision would not only put her on her current journey through capoeira, but it would also put her into contact with the man that she would one day call her husband. Jesse was also a practitioner, struggling to regularly attend classes and workshops, yet always seeming to make it to the social gatherings, these two would eventually meet. Through classes, workshops, and social events, these two unfamiliar people would eventually develop a friendship that would change their lives forever.

It all started in Winter of 2014. Jesse and Kristine, both single and ready to mingle on FB messenger, had a conversation that would change their lives forever. In other words, Jesse slid Kristine a direct message and asked her out for a drink. In grand fashion, Kristine chose to commence this potentially earth-shattering romance at Fremont's very own, K-Pop Cafe, on January 13th, 2015. A few pitchers of flavored soju, bulgogi fries, and a number of other unnecessary items that Kristine ordered later(She later admitted to ordering as a test), the two would end their first date sharing in a night of laughter and conversation. Fast forward one very awkward second date and Jesse signing a two-year contract to teach in Venezuela, we come to Valentine's Day 2015 and the beginning of our journey as a couple. From February, up until Jesse's departure in August, the two would spend an insane amount of time together and plant a seed that would grow into a bond that is reminiscent of that 1989 Richard Marx hit that goes: Oceans apart day after day And I slowly go insane I hear your voice on the line But it doesn't stop the pain If I see you next to never How can we say forever Wherever you go Whatever you do I will be right here waiting for you Whatever it takes Or how my heart breaks I will be right here waiting for you
