How We Met

Sometimes love starts in the most unexpected ways… for us, it began with a sore throat. I was preparing for a job interview and feeling absolutely miserable. A mutual friend mentioned she had a friend in Dallas who could send me some cough syrup through Amazon Prime. I insisted, “No, that’s okay, I’ll be fine,” but she went ahead anyway and had him send it to me. When the cough syrup arrived, I sent a quick Facebook message to thank him… and then we didn’t speak again for a while. But fate has a funny way of working. One day, out of the blue, he commented on one of my Facebook stories. We started talking—and talking—and before I knew it, he was flying to Houston every two weeks to a month to see me for the next two years. I think I visited him maybe twice, but it didn’t matter—the distance didn’t stand a chance. What started with a simple act of kindness turned into countless conversations, laughter, and adventures together. We got married legally in 2024, but our wedding celebration had to be delayed after welcoming our beautiful baby boy, Kaden. Now, we’re finally able to celebrate with all our loved ones and have the wedding we’ve always dreamed of—surrounded by family, friends, and all the joy that started with a little cough syrup.
