Cloughan Castle is southeast of Galway City, and Shannon Airport is about 45 minutes away. Dublin Airport, by contrast, is about two hours from Galway. You can catch a direct bus to Galway or link to the Galway train from the Dublin Airport. Renting a car is another easy option and allows you to enjoy the countryside, perhaps with an overnight stop in charming Kilkenny if driving from Dublin to Galway.
If exploring before or after the wedding, we highly recommend visiting Adare, Doolin, Dingle, or Killarney along the Wild Atlantic Way. Kristine's roots are in County Sligo, known for soda bread and old men singing in pubs well past midnight, while Chris and his family hail from County Mayo, which may explain his deep affection for comfort food.
We will host events at Cloughan Castle on Friday and Saturday evenings. You may choose to stay in the lively Galway city, or nearer to the castle in Loughrea for a shorter drive.
