Kristine and Joshua's story began in 2022 at a group dinner after a church event. Kristine noticed Joshua right away—not just because of his interesting last name (Pickle!), but because something about him sparked her curiosity. She chose to sit next to him, and the conversation quickly turned to dream interpretation. Joshua loved talking about dreams. That simple, unexpected moment planted the first seed. After that night, they started bumping into each other more and more. In 2023, Kristine helped co-lead an evangelism outreach group that Joshua joined. Serving together allowed their connection to deepen into a genuine friendship rooted in faith, respect, and laughter. Somewhere along the way, friendly competition entered the picture—Kristine beat Joshua at Scrabble during a group retreat (a loss he has never fully recovered from). Joshua realized he had finally met his match, especially since Kristine also loves Monopoly—and yes, she still beats him to this day. In 2024, Joshua took a brave step and asked Kristine out. At the time, she only saw him as a friend. A few weeks later, they went on a mission trip to Israel together. Instead of things being awkward, the trip felt natural and peaceful—something they both noticed and appreciated. Their friendship only grew stronger through shared experiences and mutual respect. Soon after, Kristine left the U.S. to pursue full-time missions in France. But God had different plans and boomeranged her back to Dallas. The next time Kristine saw Joshua was during a Passover Dinner in April 2025, and something had changed—he was glowing. A couple of months later, in July, Joshua asked her out again. This time, Kristine said, “Yes, I’m open to it.” On their first date, Kristine was taken aback. Joshua was still glowing, and suddenly her eyes were opened—he no longer was just her good friend Joshua Pickle, but someone she could see a future with. Looking back, we saw God’s hand in every step—every conversation, every encounter, and every season of waiting. What began as a friendship has become a magical, romantic, and beautifully God-written love story. We are so grateful and can’t wait to tie the knot this June and celebrate with all of you!
