Mehndi & Bridal Shower

This intimate event is an invite-only evening for our closest family and friends. It is designed to get folks acquainted while enjoying the art of henna tattoos. Attire is semi-casual Western, Indian, or Indo-Western. There will be a variety of veg and non-veg dishes as well as an open bar. Free parking is available in the garage attached to the building, and the venue is within walking distance of the Arlington Heights Metra station. *There will be bridal shower games and prizes, so be sure to brush up on your Kristin & Vibhesh trivia! PARKING INSTRUCTIONS There is a parking garage attached to the building. The entrance is located on Evergreen Avenue. Cocial is located on the 2nd floor and can be accessed through the elevator in the parking garage.

Vidhi & Garba

Join us for a day at the mandir! This free-flowing day is dedicated to Hindu traditions, socializing, and dancing. Attire is festive Indian, Indo-Western, or Western. We will begin with our Vidhi ceremony, which involves turmeric masks to brighten our skin and prayers to bless our marriage. A Gujarati vegetarian dinner will be served from 5pm - 6pm followed by traditional garba dancing. Don't worry, it's easy to join in! *We realize this is a long time block for one day. It is completely acceptable to come and go as you please.

Baraat

Get ready to dance and cheer! This is the part of the wedding where Vibhesh will arrive on a horse in front of the venue. This tradition symbolizes the groom's arrival to the bride's village. There will be a welcoming ritual between Kristin's parents and Vibhesh, and the procession will walk and dance all the way to the Lakeview Conservatory where the wedding ceremony will take place. *If this is your first baraat, get excited! It will feel like a parade, because it is one.
Wedding Ceremony

Our wedding ceremony will consist of many deeply rooted Hindu traditions as well as a few personal touches. Stay tuned for a detailed program if you wish to follow along! Please note, there is a break after our ceremony and before cocktail hour. We encourage guests who are attending both to take this time to rest and recharge. Cocktail Hour & Reception
6:00 pm - 11:45 pm
After a much needed nap and/or plenty of espresso, we will all return to Lakes at Lacey for cocktail hour followed by the final (and biggest) celebration of the bunch - the reception. Gear up for a whole lot of food, performances, and dancing! *Attire is whatever makes you feel fancy.
