Kristin and Shane met in undergrad at Sacred Heart University in 2010. After Shane transferred in, they quickly became intertwined as their friend groups overlapped. At first, they were just friends from afar, but as time went on the attraction grew and they became closer, eventually becoming inseparable. They officially started dating in September of 2012, and now spend their lives together, taking on and seeking out all of the adventures they can find. . . Let’s be honest though, it really all started when they were at “The Sea Grape” in Fairfield, CT during college and crossed paths on the dance floor.
In November of 2019 Kristin and Shane went to Oahu, Hawaii to visit Shane's cousin and her family. They decided to end the trip with a long weekend to themselves exploring the lush island of Kauai. Upon arriving in Kauai, Kristin and Shane journeyed on a 12.5 mile destination hike along the Kalalau Trail, with the hike ending at a beautiful secluded beach where they would spend the night camping. As the sun was setting and the waves were crashing on shore, Shane began talking about their many adventures together in life and the next thing Kristin knew, he was on one knee. With a backwards hat on him and a sports bra on her, the proposal couldn't have been a better representation of who they are as a couple.
