We decided after talking for a few days to meet in person sooner rather than later to see if it would work. Our first date was at Sinistral brewery in old town Manassas, and when we both realized we were who we advertised online, the conversation flowed easily - happy hour led into dinner and led to our first kiss that night!

Proposal story as told from Ryan’s point of view. “I made the plan to propose by the Christmas tree as we were exchanging gifts on Christmas Eve. Christmas day tends to be chaotic as we are moving from house to house seeing our families, so we decided it is best to enjoy our Christmas together on Christmas Eve. The day I planned to propose, I was pretty much a nervous wreck. Here I was, about to ask the woman I love to spend the rest of her life with me. Then we received some very exciting news. My sister Katie ended up getting engaged that very same day! The excitement of it all had family and friends very happy. Meanwhile, I was so nervous because I was about to do the same thing that very evening. It was an emotional roller-coaster, but I talked myself into continuing with my plan of proposing to Kristin that night. When we finally get home from the family festivities, I put on some Christmas pajamas and put the engagement ring in my pocket. I got a fire started in the fireplace and we got cozy on the couch with the pups and began to exchange gifts. I told Kristin that we should start a tradition of video recording our gift exchanges each year so we would have the memories to look back on (she bought it). After all other gifts were opened, I told Kristin that I had one more gift for her and it was on the tree. She was looking around for it but I needed her to look higher so I could sneak up behind her on one knee. Once the positioning was right, I dropped down on one knee and asked the woman of my dreams to spend the rest of her life with me, and she said yes! We proceeded to spend the rest of the night snuggling with the dogs and watching Christmas movies. This was the best Christmas of my life because I got the greatest gift I ever could have asked for. I cannot wait to see what the future has to bring for us on the rest of our journey together through life.”
