Dear Family and Friends, If you’re reading this, then you are someone who means so much to us. It feels special to share a little of our story with you because this moment would not be the same without the people we love most. Our story began with a little help from our friends. Phil saw a picture of Kris and knew right away he wanted a chance. Kris, on the other hand, was a little harder to convince. One casual phone call while she was at the pool turned into her unexpectedly being put on speaker with Phil, and somewhere between his jokes, his confidence, and his charm, she gave him her number. It’s funny to think that such a simple moment could become the beginning of forever. Since we were living in different states, Phil in Denver and Kris in Louisville, our relationship began with conversation. One call turned into many, and before long those conversations became the foundation of something real. We got to know each other deeply through laughter, honesty, late-night talks, and the kind of connection that made distance feel smaller. A few months later, Kris came to Denver for our first real date. We shared a meal, laughed our way through a very messy veggie burger, and headed to a comedy show. Before the show, we sat in the car listening to music and enjoying one of those quiet moments that ends up meaning more than you realize at the time. That was also where we shared our first kiss, and by the time we walked into the comedy show holding hands, something between us had already changed. What makes our love so special is not just the big moments, but the way we are together every day. Our relationship has always been built on communication, friendship, honesty, and joy. We have always made room for each other to speak openly, listen fully, and walk through life side by side. At the center of it all, we are truly best friends. Of course, no love story is complete without a few truths. Kris has many gifts, but being early is not usually one of them. If we need to leave at 4:30, there is a good chance she is magically ready at 4:57. And somehow, despite having a closet full of clothes, there is still the regular “I have nothing to wear” moment. On the other hand, Phil is observant enough to notice everything and maybe just nosy enough to have an opinion on all of it. That balance has become part of the fun. We keep each other laughing, grounded, and never too serious. As our relationship grew, so did the life we were building together. Long distance taught us patience, consistency, and how to truly know each other beyond surface-level attraction. What we found was something deeper: a relationship built on trust, understanding, shared values, and genuine love for who the other person truly is. What started as a simple setup became a friendship, and that friendship became a love that feels steady, joyful, and meant to last. To us, marriage means choosing each other through every version of life. It means growing together, changing together, and staying committed through the highs, the lows, and everything in between. It means being each other’s best friend, safe place, greatest support, and forever partner. It means building a bond that does not quit. As we look ahead, we are excited for all that is still to come and so grateful to share this chapter with you. With love, Phil & Kris
