Josh and I met on Tinder. Our first date was on Martin Luther King, Jr. day. To say that our first date was awkward, is an understatement. We probably didn't talk more than 20 words, and when he tried to hold my hand, I refused. In the middle of our date, his brother texted him asking if he wanted to hang out, and I insisted he go spend time with him. When he left, he texted me asking "So, when are we hanging out again". I knew right then that I would marry him. Believe it or not, real love can be found on dating sites!
With the help of one of my best friends (and my now matron of honor), Josh planned the best surprise proposal. Anyone who really knows me, knows how much I love fall and Halloween. Josh and I had planned to go to Land of Illusion with Tara and her husband, Dustin. While Josh was at "work" that day, Tara and I had planned to go get our nails done, get a pumpkin spice latte, and go "take photos at the bridge in the corn maze". And yes, before you ask, I thought this request was a little weird, but I love all fall things, so I just went with it. The day of, I had decided to wear these distressed jeans, that were a little tight around my calves. I really struggled to get them up and over my calves for my pedicure. Fast forward, my pedicure and manicure are finished. I try to pull my pants back down, and I can't. I start to panic, and I mean FULL ON PANIC.. I decide to go to the bathroom to try and get them back down. I text Tara to let her know I need help. She has to come into the bathroom and we are pulling on these pants so hard I was convinced we would have to go get them cut off. All the while we are supposed to be at the corn maze at a certain time (unbeknownst to me). We finally get them down, easily 20 minutes later, and head to the corn maze. We get there, and are completely lost in the maze. When we get to the bridge in the center of the maze, Josh was waiting there for me. I was so confused, and said "what are you doing here?". I didn't even put two and two together. I was completely shocked but it was the most perfect day (besides me "almost ruining the whole day") per Tara. We finished the night getting scared out of our minds at Land of Illusion.
