We're Tying The Knot!

This is not your "love at first sight" love story. We were two fish swimming in the same giant sea called middle and high school. We had always known one another but never really pursued a friendship. That is until we had crossed paths within our mutual friend group. He made it very obvious that he was interested. I, on the other hand was not ready for another serious relationship. He was very persistent and never missed a beat while attempting to sweep me off my feet. One day, that persistence payed off. We finished off our senior year together. We were prom dates, walked across the stage to get our diplomas together, became high school sweethearts and now we are tying the knot. He is my lobster!

For Valentine's Day, he surprised me with a long weekend in Chicago. I had been begging and begging to go and I was so excited to get away and spend quality time together in one of my favorite cities. I was excited to share with him what I loved about Chicago. He was excited for a different reason! We spent our Saturday morning eating a huge breakfast at a cute little restaurant right down the street from our hotel. We then took a cab over to the Navy Pier. I was so upset because I wanted to show him how beautiful it was there but it was under construction. We made the most out of the situation and took a stroll down the boardwalk looking out at Lake Michigan. It was freezing cold outside but that wasn't stopping me from taking pictures of the view. I was amazed at how beautiful the lighthouse was. (If you know anything about me, you know that I have a small obsession for lighthouses) After taking the picture, he told me to turn around. I turned around to him down on one knee with a tear in his eye, professing his love to me and asking for my hand in marriage. Of course, I said YES! It was the most magical day in the most magical place with the most magical man.
