It was a Wednesday right before the start of senior year - Kristin had just got back to Blacksburg from being at the beach, and Grant had just returned from his semester-long co-op in Washington DC. They each decided to catch up with a mutual friend that night at their favorite bar, Hokie House. After many glances across the bar, Grant finally decided to go introduce himself to Kristin. The night led to games of connect four at Sharkey’s (Grant claims to hold the winning record 😉) and the start of a great friendship. Unbeknownst to them, this random Wednesday night would lead to the rest of their lives.

After graduation, Grant moved to the Washington DC area, while Kristin moved to Charlotte. Weekends consisted of many flights going back and forth to visit each other. While it wasn’t always easy, it was always worth it! After almost 2 years of dating long distance, Grant decided to move back to his hometown of Charlotte with Kristin.

After spending the morning with friends, Grant asked Kristin to go for a walk on the greenway near their house. After walking down the trail, Grant got down on one knee and asked Kristin to be his wife. It was perfect - just them two, being completely themselves. Neither one of them could’ve asked for a better moment! They are so excited to take this next step in their life together, and have everyone to celebrate with them.
