Our story begins on the dating app Bumble when we both swiped right. Kristin reached out first with a simple "Hey" and the texting conversation began. After chatting for two weeks we decided to get a drink. Our first date was in April 2017 at The Good Life in Massapequa Park. A drink or two later George walked Kristin to her car, and like the gentleman he is, he opened her door and gave her a kiss. By the time we got back to our houses, we both knew we'd met someone special and we couldn't wait for our the second date!
In the midst of Covid-19 and tired of being stuck in the house during quarantine, we decided to get away for a few days. Arizona was the first state to open up in Early Summer 2020 so we booked a trip to Sedona. We hiked, walked around the town, gazed at the stars, and swam in a beautiful creek. On the third day of our vacation, June 19th, we decided to go on a hike to Devil's Bridge after a morning of driving ATVs in the desert. For an hour we talked about our trip, told each other stories and laughed as we hiked in the Arizona heat. Once we got to the top we were able to steal some shade, rest and look out at the scenery. We sat and watched as a bunch of other hikers walked onto the rock bridge, known as Devil's Bridge, and take photos. George turned and asked a man nearby to take a picture of us. We walked around and over onto the rock bridge. We stood and were almost posed, but he pulled back and when I turned around to see what he was doing I realized he was down on one knee with a ring box. He opened it and asked if I would marry him. It was the easiest yes of my life!
