Las Palmas Tex-Mex

Las Palmas Tex-Mex

2708 Routh Street, Dallas, TX 75201

Kristin and Colin's favorite place for anniversary dinners, date night, and whenever Kristin says "We haven't been to Las Palmas in awhile". This up-scale Tex-Mex place has some of the coolest Western décor in Dallas covering the walls and cactus-themed margarita glasses that Kristin has adopted for her home bar cabinet as well. Go-to Orders Kristin: Half chicken, half veggie fajitas and a margarita on the rocks with salt Colin: Half chicken, half steak fajitas with bone marrow butter and a Modelo Especial

E Bar Tex-Mex

E Bar Tex-Mex

Kristin and Colin's go-to Tex-Mex restaurant whenever fajitas and 'ritas sound good (i.e., most nights). This place is always packed and doesn't take reservations, so show up grab a margarita and hang on the patio. It's always worth the wait. Go-to Orders Kristin: Chicken Quesadillas (no onion) and a margarita on the rocks with salt Colin: Jorge's tacos w/ chicken and a frozen margarita no salt

Terilli's

Terilli's

2815 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, TX 75206

Kristin and her best friends spent countless PC (pre-Colin) weekend nights sampling the martini list and splitting Italchos dating back to college. Colin was introduced to Terrili's as a child by his parents, who had been semi-regular's since the '80s. Together, Colin and Kristin love getting a little dressed up to celebrate special occasions at Terrili's. Go-to Orders Kristin & Colin: split Italchos w/ peppers, mushrooms, and spinach; split sausage & peppers tortellini with a Skinny Margarita martini (Kristin) and Espresso Martini (Colin)

Stan's Blue Note

Stan's Blue Note

2908 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, TX 75206

Where it all started: April 27, 2019 Kristin and Colin both walked into Stan's with friends who introduced them for the first time (thanks Connor and Rosie!), setting in motion a long-distance courtship that brought us to the alter on May 27, 2023. Since that night, Kristin and Colin have spent countless hours playing shuffleboard and hanging out at their favorite neighborhood bar. Usually very easy to find a table and get a drink during the day and early evening, but may see a line start to form closer to ~10pm. Wouldn't suggest their food, but hey, if you're feeling brave go for it. Bonus: Back in the '80s, Louis and Susie Rubin and Jim and Maury Cunningham were Stan's regulars when the bar was less than half the size it is today.

Katy Trail Ice House

Katy Trail Ice House

3127 Routh Street, Dallas, TX 75201

The most popular patio in Dallas. Katy Trail Ice House is a giant outdoor beer garden with tons of beer on tap, great cocktails, and the best cheese fries in Dallas. Don't let the sun scare you off, heavy tree cover and industrial misters ensure that you won't over overheat while enjoying the great Dallas weather. Kristin and Colin have both been frequent visitors since before they met and hope to one day bring their future puppy after a long walk. The best hours to ensure getting a table are generally noon-4, but if the weather is nice, there is likely to be a bit of a wait (totally worth it).

Truck Yard

Truck Yard

5624 Sears Street, Dallas, TX 75206

The second most popular patio in Dallas. Truck yard is also a giant outdoor beer garden with tons of beer and delicious cocktails on tap. This backyard has a truck theme due to the rotating food trucks that park here for the day, which usually provide a few very different, but always delicious food options. The backyard was recently completely renovated and usually has a live band playing for portions of the day and night on weekends. Kristin and Colin love the direct sunlight that this unique bar gets on a summer day and the close proximity to Colin's house (~2 blocks) makes this one of their go-to spots.

Katy Trail

Katy Trail

Built on top of a former Union Pacific railroad track, the 3.5-mile trail begins at the American Airlines Center (home of Dallas Mavericks and Stars) just north of downtown, travels through the heart of Uptown, and ends just north of Kristin's apartment in the Knox / Henderson neighborhood. The Katy Trail has played a special part in Kristin and Colin's relationship, providing the venue for countless walks, runs, conversations, and their recent engagement. On November 26, 2022, Colin proposed to Kristin on the Katy Trail at a spot just south of Knox Street and, in that moment, made it one of the most special places for them in the city of Dallas (she said yes!).
