We’re getting married!

We met in Denton while we were both walking around the Square with our dates at the time. He knew my friend so they stopped to chat for a bit. He thought I was super pretty. I thought he had the cutest smile and I really liked his blue hat. RIP cool dad hat!

We had hung out a few times over the years but never officially, so when Caleb moved back to Dallas, I invited him over to my suite in Deep Ellum. I wasn't sure it was a date until after dinner when we drove back to my place and he put his arm around me while we watched E.T. (his pick) followed immediately by Collateral Damage (my pick). You can pretty much tell someone is awesome if they're willing to laugh over a Schwarznegger film and let you hide in their sweater when E.T. does that creepy neck thing...

Caleb had been very stressed about something that week and I decided to cheer him up by giving him an early mini-Christmas. I went out and gathered a few items and activities I thought we'd enjoy and brought them home to wrap for his surprise. He was sitting on the couch in the living room and I gave my little speech about how stress can keep you from seeing the future and how we have so much to look forward to, dozens of Christmases, hundreds of adventures, and thousands of smiles together. He was so sweet, he opened each little gift with a tear in his eye and while I got out the screwdriver to put batteries into his new mini moon lamp, he snuck out of the room. He came back and I was hard at work unscrewing the cap to the bottom of that lamp, sitting on a big cushy ottoman. He got down on one knee right there in the living room and popped the question! I thought he was teasing me for about one second until I saw the ring and I squealed and said, "YES!" screwdriver still in hand. <3 It was perfect <3
