Like most millennial love stories, we met on a dating app except ours is “simply the best” version. Amanda vividly remembers Kristin’s profile having lots of food emojis and knew she had to swipe! Kristin was drawn to Amanda’s kind eyes and warm smile. We were a match! It was no more than an hour into our back and forth conversation that Amanda knew she had to give Kristin her phone number.. it was definitely Kristin’s jokes and puns that made her weak in the thumbs. We were excited because in just a few short hours we had felt like we had known each other for so long and had so much in common. Little did we know that by uncovering our very profound and personal connections to leukemia would open our hearts to the deepest connection and understanding to each other we had ever felt. It was from that moment on that we knew we shared a bond so strong that nothing was ever going to get in between us. In the beginning of our relationship, our adventures took us back and forth from the Upper East Side to Long Island. Then, our shared love for traveling, shined through as we discovered and explored many new and exciting places together. Taking on the next adventure of becoming Jersey Girls and moving in together was the start of our greatest adventure. We discovered that while we love traveling the world, our hearts are the happiest when in our home that we have loved building together. We are so excited to share this next big adventure with all of you for our “lifetime of promises and a world of dreams” together forever!
Two Brides means double the planning AND double the proposals! Amanda's proposal: After months of planning in secret with the help of our family and friends, we pulled off the most perfect Surprise Engagement Party at our apartment's rooftop event space in Jersey City. While I had Amanda busy at the Rockette's, our family and friends were busy making the space look incredible.. luckily my Type-A intense planner self and extensive notes helped guide them! Amanda thought we were "crashing a party upstairs" when it was all for us! It will definitely be a day we won't forget! Thank you to all who were able to make the trip on Thanksgiving weekend to come celebrate with us. Kristin's proposal: All while I was planning my proposal, Amanda was doing the same. Our families joked about who would "beat the other" to the question! Amanda, being the selfless person she is, knew that I would NEVER guess that my turn would come on her birthday! After a long grueling day at work, I came home to the most beautiful and intimate proposal a girl could dream of. Amanda knows I don't like attention, but thankfully we had our camera man James (Our Best Man) there interrupting our celebrations and kisses to warn us about the small candle fire happening behind us! It's safe to say that moment will always be burned into our hearts as well as our apartment floor... and this helped prompt us to probably put a fire extinguisher on our registry!
