How we met

All because two people swiped right..

Neither of us thought we would meet the love of our lives on a dating app. Rewind to November of 2021, the bride moved to Charlotte not knowing anyone [with the exception of her older sister LeeAnne]. Tori, her best friend, dropped everything to help her move into her new apartment right outside of the city in a town called Noda. Since Tori is her best friend, she knew that 'introverted extroverted' Kristin would not go out of her way to get out and meet people. The discussion of Bumbl, a dating app where the female makes the first move, came up. Kristin had never ever been on a dating app, nor did she have the desire to. But on the last night Tori was in town, they made a profile together with Kristin being bitter about it the entire time. The idea of meeting a stranger and the stigma behind dating apps turned Kristin off to the whole thing. As they were sitting on the couch 'swiping', Tori realized Kristin was swiping 'NO' to everyone. "Kris, it doesn't work if you swipe no to everyone that pops up." *Groom enters* Adam's profile comes up and was Kristin's second swipe right. *Matched* as they call it, meaning both people 'swiped right' making a match. If you don't know how Bumbl works, after you get a 'match', the girl then initiates the conversation. Did Kristin initiate anything? No of course not. It wasn't until the next day, which happened to be the day before Thanksgiving, that Tori looked at the people in her 'que of matches', pointed to Adam's profile, and said 'what's wrong with Adam? Why don't you message him?' Kristin, who never makes the first move, had no idea what to say. "What would you say to me?" said Tori. "Hey there, how are you?" The couple started talking on Adam's 30th birthday, which also happened to be Thanksgiving that year. They talked every day after that. Adam called Kristin to ask her out on a formal date a week later, while he was driving back to CLT after the holiday. After that date, they spent the whole weekend together and deleted their online dating profiles. They met up at a brewery on December 1st where Kristin gave Adam a huge hug because she had felt like she had known him forever, had their first 'real date' on December 3rd, and were officially dating on 1/1/2022. ....And until this day, people get annoyed when Kristin said she was only on a dating app for 3 days and that's all it took to find her perfect match.
