After a night at work I went to the bar and decided to sit with some co-workers. Adam was already sitting there and I sat right next to him. Trying not to be shy I started to talk with him. Later, we went to an after-party and sat with each other until I went home. He had taken a job as a team lead in the department that made my departments parts. A few weeks of flirting and him not asking me out, I found him on Tinder and swiped right. He swiped right unknowing that it was me and our first date was on my birthday. We spent hours with each other and have been inseparable ever since.
Our story is just that, ours. Adam had decided to get me a ring, me being impatient, I ruined the surprise (I can't keep in presents for long periods of time). He took me with him to make sure that we had the right ring size and we got the ring. It sat on our dresser for what seemed like forever! (probably two weeks) and he said he was "dangling it in my face", typical Adam. One evening we went to my parents where he asked my father if he could marry me. Afterwards we went to supper in Denton and we were standing outside the truck under a street light outside a bar in front of a car lot. He asked "Do you want me to ask you now?" I should of known better than to think he was kidding this one time and I jokingly said "Yes" but he went into the truck, grabbed the ring and got down on one knee and asked me. I would not change it for a minute. All that mattered in that moment wasn't the surroundings or how I looked but the fact I get to marry my best friend.
