The first time Aaron and I met was at Lahaina's Beach House in Pacific Beach. My group of girlfriends met a group of "fun boys from Chicago" the night prior and invited them to meet us for a beer. When Aaron walked in, I immediately leaned over to my friend and whispered to her how cute I thought he was. We hung out as friends for a few weeks, but the butterflies we were feeling for each other were hard to ignore. Finally, a few nights after my 22nd birthday, Aaron asked me out! We fell for each other pretty fast and knew we had something special. We shared a love of the ocean, music, family, and God. Soon enough, the Chicago boy and the San Diego girl fell in love and the rest is history!

After 4 years of dating, I knew it was time to pop the question. On December 17th, 2021, Kristin and I walked our dog, Penny Lane, down to our favorite beach. It was a beautiful night and I was filled with nerves but was trying to play it cool. As we were walking on top of the rocks, I stopped and turned her around to face me. I started telling her how much I loved her, but Kiki was oblivious and just said "yeah, I know!" and tried to keep walking. I kept talking about my love for her and then she finally realized what was happening. We both were laughing and crying at the same time. I don't remember much because I blacked out at this point, but I got down on one knee and asked her to marry me! Thankfully, she said yes! We walked back home and were surprised by the fam in our front yard waiting for us with champagne. We then decided to walk over to the local bar for a celebratory drink. Little did Kiki know, all of our friends and family were waiting there to surprise her! We had the most amazing night celebrating!
