March 2016 This story begins with a young New Yorker named Goose (unofficially known as Joshua). Having recently moved to Texas, Joshua had high hopes of making some new friends. It wasn’t long after scrolling through Instagram one day that he came across the page of one, Kristina John. Intrigued, he requested to follow her. As if by fate, Kristina, who never accepts requests from people she hasn’t met, accidentally accepted Joshua’s request. Although it appeared that nothing was accomplished, this would be the start of their story… June 2016 While attending PCNAK 2016 in Dallas, Joshua was told by his friends that Kristina would also be there. A mutual friend managed to get him some helpful information… Kristina was wearing a striped shirt. So Joshua and his friends set out to look for the "striped-shirt girl." It wasn’t long before Joshua and Kristina were next to each other in a big circle of friends. After being introduced to one another, the two had a conversation that lasted a whopping 60 seconds; neither of them could hear a thing because it was so loud, so they quickly ended their conversation and went their separate ways. Fun fact - Kristina's family may not remember this, but she went home that night and explained to them that her friend tried to set her up with some “random dude” & her exact words were, "…he was so weird!" July 2016 One night while scrolling on Instagram, Kristina realized that she was already following this “Goose” character from PCNAK. After scrolling through his page, Kristina thought to herself, “maybe this guy is not so weird after all.” She quickly reached out to a mutual friend of theirs and asked if Joshua was still interested, and indeed he was. Joshua messaged her that night and the two texted back and forth for 6 hours; it was as if they had known each other their whole lives. September 2016 Filled with hope for the future, Joshua and Kristina decided to officially start their journey together. From then on, their story continued. May 2017 Adding to the pages of their story, they celebrated the end of their senior year of high school with Joshua taking Kristina to prom. It was a special evening filled with lots of hairspray, makeup, fancy outfits, dancing, and pictures! Of all the memories that could have been shared, why is this one so important? Fast forward five years… November 2022 … to when Joshua took Kristina back to the place where they had taken prom pictures so long ago - but this time would be different. With friends and family peering on from afar, Joshua read her a book he had written, got down on one knee, pulled out a ring & asked her to walk hand in hand with him until they grew old together! March 2023 The festivities had officially begun as Joshua and Kristina celebrated their engagement - Indian Style. They had their closest family and friends prayerfully bless them as they started this next chapter of their story together. March 2024 8 years after the Instagram “follow” that started it all, Joshua and Kristina cannot wait to leave behind their “goodbyes” to each other after every hangout in exchange for a lifetime of going home together as husband and wife. As they get ready to say “I do” at the altar and add new pages to this story, please continue to keep them in your prayers.
