We are requesting that guests follow a black-tie optional guest code... to us this just means we'd like most women to wear a gown (or longer dress... midi length would be fine too), and men can choose between a suit or a tux.
Doors to the venue open promptly at 5 PM, and ceremony starts at 5:15 sharp.
Our venue is unique in that it is a historic building with 3 floors for guests to explore. We will start out in the first floor banquet hall for the ceremony, then we will have a traditional cocktail hour during which there will be a large charcuterie station and lots of passed hors d'oeuvres. During that time guests are free to wander and explore the venue. We will all be called back into the ballroom briefly for traditional dances and speeches, and then everyone is free to spread out again, which we highly encourage doing! You do not need to eat dinner at your assigned seating, as we are not having a traditional sit down meal. More details to follow in next question...
After the cocktail hour appetizers and the traditional dances and speeches, dinner will be served throughout the venue. Because we highly encourage guests spreading out throughout the venue, since there will be seating on the other floors in addition to on the first floor, the venue employees take note of where people are located and come around offering food that is made to order and prepared on mobile bar carts. Because they are made to order, allergens or preferences can easily be omitted, just let the staff member know. These small entrees will include a grilled chicken caesar salad served in a baked asiago cheese bowl, penne pasta in a home made creamy pesto sauce, grilled gochujanj salmon served over sesame rice, butternut squash soup topped with a broccoli rabe, pesto and sharp provolone panini triangle, petite cheeseburgers on miniature brioche buns with dill pickle slices and golden tater tots, and greek butterflied leg of lamb with tomato relish and grilled naan. You can have as many of these small entrees as you'd like!
We recommend the Sofitel Hotel at Rittenhouse Square, and have a block of rooms reserved there for our guests. Please see the travel section of the website for more details.
We love all our guests' kids, but are requesting this be an adult-only event :)
There are a few parking lots near the venue... please see the travel section of the website for more details!
We will be providing an Uber gift card for any guest who stays at the hotel block. The area from the hotel and venue is also safe and very walkable. This is also true from the parking lots listed under the travel section. We will not be having a shuttle.
We are registered through Zola. You can find our registry through the registry section of this website or through typing in "Kristina Matthews" here: https://www.zola.com/search/wedding-registry
