Kristina and Manu had been classmates since 2018: the year they started Bible school (IHOPU) together. During their first three years, they had been becoming better and better friends. But, that was until Manu began to be interested in Kristina as more than a friend. For Kristina however, it was not even a thought. In the summer of 2021 - the year before their last year of school - Kristina was traveling in Europe, and she decided to go to Switzerland because that was a place she had wanted to see for a long time. At that time, Manu was already back home in Switzerland to spend time with his family. When Kristina shared this news with Manu, he found it sad that she would visit his home country alone (she was indeed very motivated to do so). That is why he offered to show her around for a few days, and, they decided she would come at the end of July. They visited Manu's hometown (Geneva), then the capital city (Bern), and finally went to Zermatt to see the beautiful Swiss mountain: Matterhorn. On that last day - July 29, 2021 - something clicked in Manu's mind as he was in the train, sitting in front of Kristina. He suddenly thought: "I must be crazy if I don't even ask this amazing girl out!" So he did it the next day as they were at the airport to say bye. Kristina's reaction was... intriguing. She was so surprised that the entire time Manu was talking, letting her know he found her interesting and was wanting to get to know her more: she was laughing. Manu didn't really know if that was a good sign or not, but that was only because she was nervous. In the end, she said yes to going out on a date with him, and that was the first of many others to come.

Kristina et Manu étaient dans la même classe depuis 2018: l'année où ils commencèrent leur école aux États-Unis. C'est durant leurs trois premières années qu'ils devinrent de bons amis, jusqu'au moment où Manu s'intéressa à Kristina et envisagea plus qu'une amitié. En revanche, pour Kristina cela n'était même pas dans ses pensées. Durant l'été 2021, l'année avant qu'ils commencent leur dernière année d'université, Kristina voyageait en Europe lorsqu'elle décida d'aller en Suisse car elle avait toujours voulu y aller. À ce moment là, Manu était en Suisse durant l'été pour passer du temps avec sa famille. Lorsque Kristina lui partagea la nouvelle de sa venue, il trouva un peu triste qu'elle pense aller visiter son pays d'origine toute seule (elle était vraiment décidée à cela). C'est pour cette raison qu'il lui proposa de lui faire visiter la Suisse pour quelques jours et ils décidèrent qu'elle viendrait fin juillet. Ils visitèrent la ville où Manu a grandi (Genève), puis la capitale de la Suisse (Berne), et enfin ils allèrent à Zermatt pour voir le magnifique Cervin. Le dernier jour (le 29 juillet 2021), alors que Kristina et Manu étaient dans le train pour rentrer à Genève, Manu eut cette pensée soudaine alors qu'il était assis en face de Kristina: "Je serais fou si je ne demandais pas à cette fille géniale d'aller boire un café ensemble pour mieux se connaître!" C'est donc ce que Manu lui demanda le jour d'après, alors qu'ils étaient à l'aéroport pour se dire au revoir. La réaction de Kristina était pour le moins... intrigante. Kristina était tellement étonnée que pendant que Manu parlait, elle rigolait. Manu ne savait pas vraiment si c'était bon signe ou pas, mais Kristina rigolait seulement parce qu'elle était un peu stressée. À la fin, elle finit par dire oui pour sortir ensemble et c'est ainsi que cette histoire commença.

After finishing their fourth and last year at Bible school in America, Kristina and Manu went a few weeks to Switzerland to spend time together, knowing they were about to begin a season of long-distance for their relationship. One morning - a few days after arriving in Geneva - Manu woke up Kristina around 5 am and without telling her where, explained her they would be gone for the day. They took a first train, then a second, and finally a third one. Kristina had a lot of thoughts concerning where they would be going and the reason behind it. But, it's when she saw the itinerary of the third train that she realized where they would spend the day at: Zermatt. Zermatt is a beautiful town in Switzerland in the middle of many gorgeous mountains and one of them being called the Matterhorn (Google it!). They arrived in Zermatt and took a cable car to go up a mountain facing the Matterhorn. When they arrived up there, the view was breathtaking and the weather was amazing! They took plenty of pictures until they arrived at a specific spot that seemed good for what Manu had in mind. He asked a tourist if they could take pictures of them, and there put one knee down, opened a box with a ring, and asked Kristina: "will you marry me?" This time, she wasn't laughing but rather answered while tearing up: "YES!"

Kristina et Manu finirent leur 4ème et dernière année d'école aux USA et après la remise des diplômes décidèrent de passer quelques semaines en Suisse ensemble en sachant qu'ils allaient entrer dans une saison de relation longue-distance; puisque Kristina serait aux USA pendant un temps, et Manu en Suisse. Un matin et quelques jours après leur arrivée en Suisse, Manu réveilla Kristina vers 5h du matin et sans lui dire où, lui expliqua qu'ils allaient être loin pour la journée. Ils prirent un premier train, puis un deuxième, et enfin un troisième. Kristina avait beaucoup de suppositions concernant où ils iraient et pour quelle raison, mais c'est lorsqu'elle vit la destination du troisième train qu'elle réalisa où ils passeraient la journée: à Zermatt! Zermatt est un magnifique village au milieu des montagnes valaisannes où l'on retrouve notamment le très connu Cervin. Ils arrivèrent donc à Zermatt, et prirent un funiculaire pour monter sur la montagne qui fait face au Cervin. Quand ils arrivèrent en haut, la vue du Cervin était à couper le souffle et la météo magnifique. Ils prirent un grand nombre de photos jusqu'à ce qu'ils arrivent à un endroit qui convenait pour ce que Manu avait prévu. Il demanda à une touriste si elle pouvait prendre des photos d'eux. C'est là, qu'en posant un genou à terre et ouvrant une boîte contenant une bague posa cette question à Kristina: "Kristina, veux-tu m'épouser?" Cette fois-ci, elle ne rigolait pas et lui répondit en ayant les larmes aux yeux: "OUI!"
