Joshua and I first met at our church when he shyly asked his sister (who I was friends with) to introduce us. After some messaging back and forth we had our first date on August 31, 2012. We went to my high school's football game, which turned out to be an awesome first date - my team won, and I got to spend time with my handsome new crush ;) We've had so many great memories together since then, spending our teenage years together. It's cliche and cheesy, but Joshua and I always talk about how we both knew we wanted to marry each other from the beginning. Kayla, his sister who introduced us, can confirm as much, lol. After seven years of being together Joshua FINALLY proposed to me on October 28, 2019. And even though I knew it was coming eventually, he managed to surprise me. He took me to a newly built park in the area that has a big, beautiful, fountain as the center piece. He told me that if you stood directly in front of the fountain, on a certain piece of tile, you would get "the best view of it". So I did. Then with my back turned, Joshua let out a not-so-subtle "ahh-uhm", signalling me to turnaround. When I turned, there he was, on one knee with ring in hand asking me to marry him. It was beautiful. And for bonus points, he even hired a photographer to catch our moment (something I told him I would like).
