We're getting married!

Josh and Kristina met in the summer of 2018 during their accounting internship at Deloitte. Although there was an instant connection during their first one-on-one conversation on a rooftop bar after one of their training sessions, they started off their relationship as just friends. After the summer was over, they went onto graduate school at the University of Kentucky, furthering both their studies and their friendship. They sat next to each other in almost every class, talked everyday, and always chose each other to be in their group projects. They thought so highly of each other, but neither were willing to make the first move, probably to avoid the potential for making classes awkward if the other didn't feel the same way. In the fall after graduating, they started their careers at Deloitte but in different cities - Cincinnati for Kristina and Louisville for Josh. They kept in touch a little after the move (thanks to Snapchat) but started to grow apart. Winter and the holidays came around, and there was a work event coming up that they both knew gave them the opportunity to see each other again - the holiday party. They reached out to each other a week before to ask if they were going and if they were bringing anyone and were both relieved when each person said they would be going alone. Kristina and Josh were inseparable the night of the holiday party and had the best time. After a little bit of liquid courage, Josh finally told Kristina he had liked her since he first met her. Kristina often describes this moment as one of the best of her life. After that night, Kristina and Josh wasted no time in getting their relationship started. The first few months of their relationship was long distance, but once COVID hit in March 2020, Josh moved to Northern Kentucky to be with Kristina. They spent the next 2 years working and living from their home (somehow managing to not drive each other crazy) and falling more in love each day.

Kristina and Josh love to travel the world, especially together. A few weeks before their Canada road trip and unbeknownst to Kristina, Josh had bought a ring and got Kristina's parents' permission to marry their daughter. The first few days of the trip were spent exploring cities, hiking, and slowly making their way from British Columbia to Alberta. Josh had the ring in his pocket almost the entire time, just waiting for the right moment. They arrived in Jasper National Park on June 1, 2022 and immediately fell in love with the town and the beautiful lakes. That night, Josh found the perfect (and private!) spot on Lake Annette to relax and drink some wine with Kristina. After talking for a little bit, they set up the tripod to take a picture of them with the beautiful scenery. Instead of it being a picture, it was a video to record the moment Josh was waiting for. In honor of tradition, he got down on one knee and proposed. They decided not to share the news right away and spent the rest of the evening hanging out by that lake, enjoying the time where they were thousands of miles away from home and the only ones that knew that they would be getting married.
