There’s something about fresh mountain air. We met at work. Sort of. Kristina swears she doesn’t remember seeing Jonny before she agreed to let the Public Safety Assistant give Jonny her number. Little did he know the way to her heart was through her stomach. Mexican food for a first blind date. If this first date were Indiana Jones’ search for the Holy Grail, Jonny had chosen [plastic cactus stemware] wisely. Serendipity or providence, since that first date over enchiladas and tacos, we’ve been blessed with some pretty darn’ dazzlin’ chemistry. The rest is history—with a lot of good food, mountains and airplanes mixed in.
We have chosen a small destination wedding in Roatan, Honduras. An island in the Caribbean. Since Kristina was knee-high to a grasshopper, thoughts of her own wedding have given her consternation. (Which, she found out early on did not mean the same thing as constipation. Sorry for mentioning constipation in a wedding post.) Jonny was a true gem to suggest a small wedding. He gave her the perfect wedding gift: freedom to fulfill her insatiable wanderlust and daydreams of serene places where the world moves at a quieter pace. Being mid-winter, she quickly chose warm, tropical and beach. In that order. Our happiness would not be complete without the opportunity to gather together and share a meal and a few laughs with the ones we love most. We will have a casual celebration upon our return, a BBQ in the mountains where all are welcome to stop by and say hello! We have been richly blessed by family and friends. Gifts are not necessary. For those who would like to give, a link to our registry is listed. We ask that no gifts be brought to our wedding celebration.
