On the first night of a wonderful weekend event at a friend’s house in Paradise, UT, a certain girl noticed a cute boy walking up to the campfire. A discussion soon started and, as the girl and boy introduced themselves to the group, they noticed they had a lot in common. The next day, the boy and girl both "played it cool" on the outside, but inwardly cheered when they got put on the same paintball team and would row towards each other every so often while kayaking, often wondering where the other person was and what they were doing. That night, two unusual and lovely things happened. Somehow they found themselves talking underneath shooting stars and they realized that they could easily be themselves around each other and talk about anything. The next week, the boy named Gavin asked the girl named Kristina on a date to a jazz concert, and the rest is history.
We realized about a month before we got engaged that we had actually met in passing at a dance in Portland when we were around 15 or 16.
