We met through mutual friends and had an instant connection. You know, that undeniable, butterflies in your stomach, smiles from ear-to-ear type of young love. 12 years of memories later and we have traveled, graduated, thrown our fair share of parties (who could forget the house by Super 8) added a fur baby to our family and started a new life together in Sacramento. We share a mutual love of soulful music, camping, spending time at the river and Saturday morning cartoons. Turns out it’s impossible to take over a decade of love and put it into a single paragraph. But what our hilarious attempt to write this story gave us, was the chance to reflect on all the growth we've experienced together through so many different phases of our lives. From group trips and adventures to new cities, changing career paths, multiple moves, degrees and even real illness, our love has seen us through stronger and better every time. Now, after all these years together, we can’t wait to finally tie the knot and start our happily ever after!
Kristina and Dana planned to have a nice date night in Downtown Sacramento on Christmas Eve. They arrived at the Grange restaurant on J Street for what Kristina thought was just to have a drink before dinner. To her surprise, Dana had booked a Suite for the evening at the adjoining Citizen Hotel which came with the works; valet, city views and champagne on ice! Then they were off to the Theatre of Lights, a holiday themed light show in Old Town. Once they arrived back at the hotel for dinner, they were stopped by a staff member who greeted Dana for what he passed off as an arranged “historic hotel tour”. After touring several floors listening to the hotels past and some of its more recent changes, they went all the way to the 14th floor to tour the pint house or “The Mayors Suite”. The beautiful room led to two double doors which opened to a grand patio overlooking the lights of their city. Dana took Kristina’s hand and got down on one knee and asked her to marry him. With tears in her eyes and her heart as full as ever, she said YES!!
