Kristina and I originally met back in September of 2019, but not in the traditional way most people meet. On September 14th, 2019 my cousin Morgan had posted a picture of her and some girls she had recently gone to a concert with (one of which was Kristina) on Instagram. After seeing that photo, my mom decided to text Morgan to try and see if she could set up a time for Kristina and me to meet in person since she thought Kristina was really cute. After working things out, Morgan decided to set up a group to go to my other cousin's Senior Powderpuff Game. So reluctantly, I decided to go along to this Powderpuff Game, but looking back now I am very glad I made that decision. From the minute I saw Kristina she took my breath away. We had talked that entire night throughout the game (honestly I have no idea who won the game) and exactly one week later we started officially dating. Our first few months of dating were exhausting with many late nights, but I knew something about Kristina was special. Fast forward a few months and we were presented with COVID which though it was a troubling time for many, this really allowed Kristina and me to grow in our relationship. I was working from home and both of us were doing school remotely, allowing for us to spend a lot of time together when normally we might not’ve been able to. Fast forward again another few months to May 27th, 2021; I decided to ask the girl of my dreams to spend the rest of her life with me and she said YES!! We have grown deeper in our walk with God and keeping him at the center of our relationship, and I feel so blessed to have met such a God-honoring woman at such a young age. Though I look back and might laugh at how we met, I am very thankful my mom reached out to Morgan after seeing that Instagram picture and I am very glad I decided to go to that Powderpuff game.
Christian and I meet in September of 2019. We were both attending the University of Colorado- Colorado Springs but we didn't meet there. I met Morgan (Christian’s cousin) at Bible study and we became best of friends. A group of us went to a concert where we took a group picture. This picture is what started everything. Jackie (Christian's mom) saw the photo on Instagram and texted Morgan to find out my relationship status. I said yes to meeting Christian simply because I felt bad that his mom was setting him up on a date. SPOILER ALERT: that was the best decision I have ever made!!! The plan was to go to Reagan’s (Christian’s other cousin) powderpuff game. We met at my friend Nicole’s house before the game. I walked up to Morgan's car and when I opened the door and immediately knew I needed to date him. He was so kind and soo attractive. We had the easiest conversation and I knew he was something special. We met on September 18th and by September 25th we were dating, exactly one week! We hung out every day until 2 or 3 am without fail. We became exhausted. We kept up that schedule for over a month and then we got into a better rhythm. Christian and I spend a lot more time together than most dating couples but that is exactly how I like it. Covid was hard in a lot of ways but having time to spend at our houses together was so sweet and is something we won't experience ever again in the same way. Our relationship grew and developed so much in the last year or so and I am so thankful. We have loved going to church together and discussing what God is doing in our lives individually and together. We are so thankful to have so much love and support around us. I am so thankful that the Lord has given me my husband at a young age so that I am able to grow with Christian through a lot of life changes in our twenties and beyond. I am so excited for my future is Christian and I am so thankful I went to the Powerpuff game.
