A city near and dear to our hearts. So many things to do, places to eat, and sites to see. Stay and walk around the Old Port, stopping for a lobster roll at Portland Lobster Company and a ocean side drink at Boone's. You could also grab a ferry to Peak's Island or take a sunset ride around Casco Bay from the ferry terminal. The city is your oyster...oh yeah, you should have those too.
The most famous and picturesque lighthouse in Maine. Just a quick drive from Portland to Fort Williams Park in Cape Elizabeth. Pack a picnic to eat at the park or drive to nearby Two Lights for a lobster roll at the famous lobster shack.
Very busy in the summer months and quite a drive north, but worth a visit if you have the time. Bike and hike to your heart's content. The city of Bar Harbor is a great place for lodging with quick and easy park access. It also of course has amazing food, drinks, and nightlife. There also many campgrounds in the area.
Walk around beautiful downtown Freeport for outlet shopping heaven and 0f course don't miss the famous LL Bean. Nearby you will find Wolfe's Neck State Park which is a beautiful easy nature walk along the ocean. Don't miss Tuscan Bistro for bites or Maine Beer Co.'s beautiful new tasting room.

Take the ferry from Port Clyde, New Harbor or Boothbay Harbor to one of the most stunning islands in Maine. There are numerous hiking trails along the island. If you plan on hiking the entire island loop, we would recommend taking the ferry from New Harbor as is provides you more time on the island. At the end of your beautiful hike have a resfreshing beer at the tiny Monhegan Island Brewery.
