I was attending graduate school in Rochester and Liam was living with his best friend and his best friend's girlfriend, who happened to be in the same program as me. As I became friends with her, she invited me over to study, do homework, and complete projects together with a side mission of setting Liam and me up (as he told me later). Thank you Lydia! After talks about How to Train your Dragon, Marvel, and Liam dancing to High School Musical's Bet on it, we spent more time together and started dating.

After 2 years together and a pandemic living with Liam and his father, Bob, Liam and I finally went on vacation together to visit my Aunt and Uncle in Charleston, SC and afterward, went to Hilton Head, SC with his family. On the second night in Hilton Head, Liam and I went for a walk on the beach to look for baby sea turtles. While walking, Liam put a headphone in my ear and together we listened to a song he wrote for me and when the song ended he bent down and proposed. After immediately responding with "is this real?", I said yes!
