Many people may not know this but, Zach and I went to high school together. I am a few years older…shh! We didn’t even know each other during those years. There were multiple times when we could have crossed paths- but this was God’s plan. Now, after all the what could have been meetings... it took us meeting 10+ years after high school. April Fool’s Day 2017. My family and I are attending the Shell Houston Open Golf Tournament. We are hanging out at the 16th Hole, aka “The Party Hole”, where we were betting on which caddies would touch the green first. At this point, we have run into several friends and as the tournament is winding down, we decide we are just about done for the day. Right as we are getting ready to leave, I see one of my closest friends from middle school, Cory Hollier. He walks up with Alex Fritsch and a guy in a yellow T-shirt who introduces himself as Zach. We exchanged a quick “hi” and casually leave. Not sure if the joke is on me or Zach at this point, but little did I know, that two-minute meeting would lead me to one day marrying my best friend! After we leave the tournament, my sister and I get a text from Cory to come over to his house later to hang out and watch some more sports of course. Zach was there! There was also an intense game of Landmines played.... Zach and I held hands :) he might kill me for writing this. Xoxo After this April Fool’s Day we talked every day, we played Trivia.... (You’re welcome for the win by the way), attended Rockets games (thank you for loving sports as much as I do) and witnessed the Astros win a 2017 World Series Championship (thank you for taking Adrianne and I on a whim to the most amazing sporting event ever)!! But, the Rockets and the Astros weren’t the only people that won after Zach and I met... I certainly won the best prize there is!

It was a “random” Thursday in May (May 17th to be exact)... Zach texts me and asks if I want to go see the house we are building together and check out the progress. Of course I want to go and see it!! I quickly make it home from work, to him acting a little strange mostly because he is “dressed up” to go see the house.... the hat was the only thing keeping me from really wondering. (Had he done his hair I probably would have caught onto something) My roommate offers to take care of Sadie, I am given NO time to change clothes or heels for that matter.... we make it through traffic all the way to Richmond, to hear Zach say “hey I’m really hungry, want to go to Pablo’s”, since I’m always up for Mexican food and a margarita I said yes! Wondering the whole way, is this it or noooo he wouldn’t do it at Pablo’s, oh well, we LOVE some Pablo’s... maybe this is it? Looking back, the details were all around, Zach didn’t have a margarita.... Zach barely ate any food.... the constant phone checking, asking what time it is.... anyways, we finally make it to our new house and begin touring around. I am so happy to be here standing in our first home together I’m not paying attention as I’m walking behind him into our living room, he turns around and gets down on one knee and asks me the most amazing and important 4-word question to which I respond the easiest 3-letter word of my life...YES!! We hug and kiss but mostly sweat because of course there is no air conditioning!!! There was no better place, no better way and no better surprises than what followed... we went over to my parents house to find family and friends and Sadie!! there waiting for us, people calling and FaceTiming and to just know how many people love us and are right there to celebrate us is something I know we will both remember for a lifetime! From now on... Thursday, May 17th, 2018 will no longer be just a random Thursday... it’s only the beginning.
