We met online and after about a month of talking, we decided to meet in person. We had our first date at Broadway Brewery where we met to watch a Mizzou bowl game. We shared a pizza, had some beers, and had a great time. When the game was over, we were both having too much fun to go home, so we ended up just sort of bar hopping around Columbia for the rest of a very memorable night. It's a good sign when your first date is so good you never want it to end!

We went on a hike to the Pinnacles, which is a beautiful nature area outside of Columbia with lots of hiking paths and tall bluffs. We had done that hike multiple times, but never with our dog, Lloyd. Shortly after getting started, it was clear that Lloyd is not the mountain climber we'd hope he might be, and it became difficult for us to get to the top of the bluffs. Kristie suggested finding a new trail, but Kevin had specific plans to propose at a small cave-like opening at the top of the rocks. After some mild bickering and much eye-rolling from Kristie, Kevin carried Lloyd to the top to complete his mission. He proposed, she said YES, and it became quickly apparent why he had been so adamant about climbing to the top, even with Lloyd. We went back to Broadway Brewery that night to celebrate where we'd had our first date.
