We're Getting Married!

It was fall of 2009 and Sam was beginning his second year of college at Biola University. It was Kristianna’s first semester and they had a Kinesiology class together. On the first day of class, Kristianna forgot a pencil. Sam saw the new girl in class and wanted her to feel welcome, so he turned around, said something funny and witty, and gave her his extra. This seems like a small moment, but crazy as it sounds, Kristianna knew there was something different about him. Over the next three years they developed a strong friendship until they both graduated in 2012. After graduation, they went their separate ways but continued their friendship. They kept in touch through new jobs, moving to different states, and life events. Over the years, their group of friends coordinated trips to see each other every couple years. They always saw each other as the type of friend you don’t have to talk to for a couple months and pick up right where you left off. In their visit in August 2019, things were different. They were both at a place in life where their friendship was able to turn into more. Sam had landed back in southern California, while Kristianna had settled down in northern California. One weekend, Sam visited Kristianna and came to the decision that he never wanted to be apart from her again and Kristianna was reminded once again that there was no one else she would rather laugh with for the rest of her life. They started dating August 18, 2019. Sam asked Kristianna to spend forever with him, and asked to be a bonus dad to Payton on May 16, 2020. Sam got a job in northern California and moved up in July 2020. We know God has orchestrated His plan in His perfect timing. It’s true when they say you should marry your best friend.
