Kristi and Nathan first met on an impromptu date at a French café on the cobblestone streets of SoHo. Between the live music, free-flowing conversation and glasses (bottles) of Rosé, they didn’t notice they had shut the restaurant down. Although COVID brought many new challenges and struggles, a silver lining was how quickly it brought Kristi and Nathan together. As a nurse caring for cancer patients, Kristi was working in the city every day while Nathan’s visa didn’t allow him to travel home. These circumstances led to many movie nights, outdoor dinner dates, trips to the Bronx Zoo / New York Aquarium and pretty much every other socially-distanced activity imaginable. As the restrictions lifted, they continued to grow together, moving into an apartment in Gramercy, traveling the world, and co-parenting their resilient beta fish, Stanley. In late-Summer 2022, Nathan embarked on an elaborate surprise proposal that included an email from a co-worker, a photoshoot in Gramercy Park, and a “cocktail party” designed to throw Kristi off the lead. After much convincing from her sister on the morning of, Kristi finally agreed to wear a white dress to the “work event” and, almost immediately after meeting the photographer in the park, Nathan got down on one knee and popped the question. The couple celebrated with drinks at their local cocktail bar and met their families who had secretly flown in to celebrate at L’Avenue. Kristi and Nathan are extremely excited to celebrate their love with their friends and family in their own unconventional style in one of their favorite destinations, Mallorca, Spain.
